The realities of Quantum Computing for the industry, ecosystem and outlook

Detalles
The world of Quantum Computing is growing quickly. We are improving our qubits and new algorithms pop up every week. The amount of published papers has grown exponentially and big companies and startups (together with their funds) are betting heavily on the industry.
As most of them say, "It is not about if, but when quantum computing will gain its advantage".
In this edition of Quantum (Beers) Barcelona we will talk with Whurley and Cesar Rodriguez from Strangeworks. One of the most promising startups in the Quantum Ecosystem scene. They are not manufacturing qubits, they are not consulting. So what are they really doing?
Come to our event and find out. We will have a fireside chat where we will talk about Strangeworks, their plans for the future and how they are "humanizing quantum" as well as their views on the industry, the ecosystem, the real stuff and the hype.
Whurley | Founder & CEO Strangeworks
Whurley is founder and CEO of Strangeworks, a quantum computing startup that makes the power of quantum computing easily accessible and available to all. He is an Eisenhower Fellow, Innovator in Residence for the Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship at the Sloan School of Management at MIT, A Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Chairman of the Quantum Computing Standards Workgroup at the IEEE, the first Ambassador to CERN and Society, a regular contributor to TechCrunch on the topic of Quantum Computing, and the co-author of "Quantum Computing For Babies”. Prior to starting Strangeworks he was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs [NYSE: GS]. He came to Goldman Sachs via the acquisition of his second startup, Honest Dollar. Prior to Honest Dollar whurley founded Chaotic Moon Studios which was acquired by Accenture [NYSE: ACN].
Dr. César A. Rodríguez Rosario is the Chief Scientific Officer of Strangeworks.
Prior to Strangeworks, he worked at Harvard University and Max Planck Institute as a Theoretical Physicists with a focus on Quantum Computing. He has a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Texas in Austin, and a B.S. in Computer Engineering. He has 20 years of experience in quantum computation and over 1000 citations. He has given talks at Oxford University, MIT, ETH Zürich, Tokyo Tech, Hong Kong University, FermiLab, NEXT, among many other places. The Puerto Rican natural affirms that the universe is made of quantum information, and his job is to hack reality.
He dreams of quantum technologies changing the world.
