Join us for a unique, escorted walking tour of the Lucky Peak Nursery—one of only six nurseries in the entire country operated by the USDA Forest Service.
This is a rare opportunity to see firsthand how locally adapted, source-identified plant materials are cultivated to restore wildlife habitats, protect critical watersheds, and rebuild healthy forests across the West.

###** What We Will Explore:**
Our host, Ms. Sara Wilson, will guide us through the entire lifecycle of forest restoration. On this tour, you will get an insider's look at:
*** Seed Extraction & Storage: **Discover how wildland seeds are harvested, cleaned, tested, and stored as an ecological safety net for our public lands.
** *Container Growing Operations: **Step inside the greenhouses to see how millions of containerized plugs are grown for high survival rates in tough terrains.
*** Bareroot Seedling Production: **Walk the fields to learn about large-scale bareroot production, where millions of hardy trees and shrubs are grown annually.
** *The Reforestation Pipeline: **Learn about the critical role Lucky Peak plays in delivering targeted, climate-resilient plants directly to areas impacted by wildfire and habitat loss across the Intermountain and Southwest regions.
**Why This Facility Matters: **From planting iconic ponderosa pines to cultivating vital sagebrush steppe species like bitterbrush, the work done here bridges the gap between environmental disaster and ecosystem recovery.
Spaces for this escorted walk are limited. We look forward to exploring the roots of our region's reforestation efforts with you!
IMPORTANT
Please come prepared to walk around the site, including stairs. Distance-wise, we cover about a 10-acre footprint with things to step over, watch your head, etc. (think hiking an easy trail in the foothills on uneven terrain).
We will dip in and out of buildings, so sunblock/hats are helpful.
