Join us for this excellent rural hike in Chester County PA, which ties together a different way the recent Chester County hikes we've been doing.
From the start, we will do the easier back roads.
The only lined road we will be on is the very beginning.
We will walk through the historic Sheeder-Hall Covered Bridge, then out to the main road for under a half mile, We then turn onto some back roads including Sheeder Mill Road, HIlltop Road, Birchrun Road, Green Lane, and Bartlett Road.
At least half of this is unpaved, and none of these named roads even have lines in them, making them narrow, lightly used, and very pleasant.
We'll soon get on the Horse-Shoe Trail from where we left off. This takes us through pleasant woods, and then out into cultivated farm fields.
Bits of the Horse-Shoe Trail also follow these little used roads.
We'll continue on the HST to Art School Lane, then make our way east and pass the historic Vincent Baptist Church and cemetery.
We'll continue to the intersection with Miller Road, where we'll begin following the Bryn Coed Trail System.
This amazing and long trail system weaves though woods and fields keeping with the overall theme of the hike.
Amazing pastoral views will make for a relaxing walk that will lead us almost all the way back to our stating point.
We'll get on one more dirt road before the end, and then an abandoned road that is now in the trail system right back to where we parked.
