Protagoras and the Challenge of Relativism

StoicDan used to quote a line from the movie Road House: "Opinions vary." While the line is more casual than philosophical, it neatly captures the spirit of Protagoras, who argued that different people can experience and judge the same reality in different ways.
In this meeting, we’ll explore his ideas more carefully (We'll take inspiration from chapter 8 in the book, Beyond Stoicism) .
No outside reading is required to attend (though it’s always encouraged). We’ll present key ideas to spark reflection and discussion.
All are welcome—whether you’re new to philosophy or have been studying it for years. We meet on Zoom, and the link will be posted prior to the meeting.
