In this week's Thursday Mindfulness Meeting will be exploring the painful and severely life-limiting phenomenon of ‘shame’ – that is, the dreadful, gut-wrenching feeling of "I'm not good enough" or "what's wrong with me, why can't I get life right and live my life well?" – along with the closely associated emotions that we suffer with at the times of failure, rejection and fear in our lives.

As a key part of this, we'll be looking in detail at how the practices, tools and techniques of meditation and mindfulness have been found (by neuroscience and psychology) to be some of the most effective and powerful ways for us to heal ourselves of this very common, self-undermining outlook – thereby opening the door to much greater joy, self-respect and increased life satisfaction.

The evening will include powerful, uplifting and inspiring teaching and advice from some of the world's foremost experts on this important topic, including the hugely acclaimed psychotherapist and mindfulness advocate Marsha Linehan, the leading neuroscientist, clinical psychologist and mindfulness coach Shauna Shapiro (author of Rewire Your Mind and The Art and Science of Mindfulness), and the hugely popular and much loved meditation teacher Tara Brach (author of the international bestseller Radical Acceptance: Awakening The Love That Heals Fear and Shame Within Us).

During the meeting on Thursday evening, Marsha, Shauna and Tara (together with some other leading experts) will share their deep and profound knowledge and understanding of this topic in some amazing pieces of video teaching, while local MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) teacher, Shaun Glossop (our Group's Director) will be on-hand to host the evening and to guide us through this week's topic in a friendly, down-to-earth and easy to understand way. PLUS our time together with include several periods of deeply relaxing guided meditation.
