An 8-week mindfulness program complete with expert tuition, live weekly classes—for those that want them—and with full course materials provided. All presented in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment. Suitable for those brand new to mindfulness and also perfect for anyone who wants to renew, refresh, or re-start their mindfulness practice.

You can choose to take part by either:

  1. Attending the weekly classes in-person each Wednesday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm in NG5. (In-person classes take place in a beautiful and spacious contemporary venue with a comfortable and stylish decor. Light refreshments are provided.)
  2. Taking part in the live weekly classes online via Zoom (each Wednesday, 2pm to 4pm).
  3. Working through the course at home at your own pace using the online resources (made available as 8 weekly modules beginning on 15th April). With this option there is no need to attend the live weekly classes—you will receive regular video tutorials as part of the course materials.

The course includes a full range of materials, including weekly worksheets, video tutorials, and guided meditations in mp3 format.

Please note:
• Mindfulness and other forms of meditation are safe and appropriate practices for the vast majority of people and they are proven to offer a wide range of benefits, including the lowering of stress and deep levels of relaxation. However, anyone who is currently experiencing profound psychological and emotional crisis, or who is otherwise in deep distress (including the recently bereaved), should not try meditation. (At these times it's better to seek counselling, therapy or support from a qualified professional; time spent outside in nature can also be beneficial.) In addition, recent research indicates that it may be unwise for people with bipolar vulnerability or those who are suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) to try any form of meditation (including Mindfulness) unless it's conducted with appropriate medical supervision. If you are currently receiving treatment for any form of mental health issue (or have received such treatment in the recent past, or have reason to believe that you might need such treatment), you should consult your doctor or psychotherapist, or another relevant health care professional, before engaging with Mindfulness or any form of meditation.
• For the veracity and effectiveness of mindfulness as a therapeutic approach for improving mental and emotional wellbeing see, amongst an extensive range of other reputable clinical trials and meta-analyses: Khoury et al (2013) [‘Mindfulness-based therapy: A comprehensive meta-analysis’] and Teasdale et al (2000) [‘Prevention of relapse/recurrence in major depression by mindfulness-based cognitive therapy’].
