# 03.13.2026 Friday Night Waltz -Tango night with Karn

Argentine Tango
Argentine tango is an intimate and improvisational partner dance that emphasizes connection, musicality, and expression. Rooted in the streets of Buenos Aires, it blends elegance with raw emotion, creating a deep dialogue between dancers. With its rich history and evolving styles, tango is both a social dance and an art form that invites lifelong exploration.
Beginners Class I: 7:15 – 8:05 pm
Prerequisites: No previous tango or social dance experience needed
Discover the foundations of Argentine tango through posture, balance, and effortless movement. This class introduces the tango walk, rock steps (cadencia), and fluid ochos (figure 8s), helping you build a strong foundation for connection and musicality.
Beginner Class II: 8:10 – 9:00 pm
Prerequisites: Beginner Class I or equivalent Argentine tango experience
Explore the Ocho Cortado, one of tango’s most beloved social figures. This playful movement combines a rebound with a quick redirection, creating a compact and rhythmic pattern that fits beautifully into the flow of the dance floor. The class focuses on timing, clear lead-and-follow communication, and the subtle rotation that makes the figure feel smooth, musical, and satisfying to dance.
