Developers spend substantial time fixing bugs. Analysing the situation and finding the problem is painful with var_dump() and die(). Setting up Xdebug is easy and has become even easier with the new Xdebug 3! Derick, the creator of XDebug, will give us interesting insights into Xdebug development and common pitfalls in using Xdebug.
After 17 years of development, V3 is a complete overhaul with greatly improved performance and new features.
During the session, he will cover topics related to Xdebug’s settings, features, and helpful diagnostic info all in one place. This version includes an overhaul of the tool and a near-total rewrite of Xdebug.

About Derick Rethans: Derick is a PHP internals expert and author of Xdebug. He also works as an independent contractor and consultant on PHP extensions and related projects. Numerous parts of PHP universe have been shaped by him (Date/Time Extension, Xdebug, PHP 4.4/7.4 Release Manager, etc). Apart from this, he is also a frequent lecturer at conferences, the author of PHP|Architect's Guide to Date and Time Programming, and the co-author of PHP 5 Power Programming.
