Reading Beowulf
Detalles
Join our friendly and enthusiastic group of readers as we enjoy reading and discussing Beowulf. Our group has been meeting for over two years, exploring such works as Don Quixote, The Divine Comedy, The Aeneid, Candide, a selection of stories and essays by Jorge Luis Borges, and most recently, The Canterbury Tales. We meet via Zoom on Sunday nights from 7-8:30 p.m. EDT.
Our reading schedule for Beowulf will be organized as follows:
Week 1: lines 1-1061
Week 2: lines 1062-2176
Week 3: lines 2177-3182
We are favoring the bilingual Seamus Heaney translation, but you are free to use any translation you prefer.
This group is organized through a email distribution list.
***If you are interested in joining us, please email me: nagold@yahoo.com***
Please be aware that we often email each other during the week to offer information about secondary sources, and to talk about ideas and thoughts we've had.
