R for Geospatial Data Science
Geospatial health data are essential to inform public health and policy. These data can be used to quantify disease burden, understand geographic and temporal patterns, identify risk factors and measure inequalities. In this tutorial, I will give an overview of statistical methods and R packages for geospatial data analysis and health surveillance. I will demonstrate how to develop spatial models using R-INLA package. I will also show how to create interactive data visualizations and maps, and introduce presentation options such as flexdashboards and Shiny web applications that facilitate the communication of insights to collaborators and policy makers. The tutorial materials are based on the book "Geospatial Health Data: Modeling and Visualization with R-INLA and Shiny" by Paula Moraga (2019, Chapman & Hall/CRC Biostatistics Series) which is freely available at [https://paula-moraga.github.io/book-geospatial/…](https://t.co/Ze22PuuiJB)
Language: English

They should also install the following R packages: install.packages(c("sf, "sp", "spdep", "raster", "rgdal", "rgeos", "ggplot2", "leaflet", "dplyr", "SpatialEpi")) install.packages("INLA", repos = "[https://inla.r-inla-download.org/R/stable](https://t.co/QgtPyEY0x4)", dep = TRUE)
