SAGE (Social Autism Group Events)

Come along to our traditional fortnightly games night at Grill’d Vic Park!

The event starts at 630 but feel free to arrive early and head to the long table at the back before the booths. You can order at the counter or by QR code on the table at anytime, then settle in and make some space for the games.

As there can be a lot happening during the event we may need to move places so that a game can flow smoothly, sometimes if you aren’t playing it can be good to swap spots with someone who is so they can be closer to the action. The table closest to the booths is often a place to chat or on the bench table closest to the counter.

Feel free to bring along your own games but be aware that it may be hard to teach something too complicated, and please nothing that could be offensive. Easy to learn stuff is best.

This can be a lively event with a large turnout in a public restaurant, there is noise and a bit happening, it may push people out of their comfort zone which can be exciting but also challenging, please take care of yourself and feel free to bring a support person.

This can be a challenging event for host too, so please respect that hosts are autistic volunteers and have their limits, any assistance in bringing games and leading games is helpful.

There is free parking around Vic Park at the IGA and the Park Centre Shopping Centre, you can get a ticket if parking on the street.

SAGE is a social group for people who identify as being on the autistic spectrum, or people who suspect that they are. You do not need a diagnosis to come along to events.

Our core values are respect, acceptance, and community, and by holding to these values we aim to create a friendly and safe place for members to relate to others and have some fun.

New members are always welcome and we understand that it can take courage to attend events if your social confidence isn’t high. Feel free to to message event host for details or assurance, we want to meet you.

SAGE is non-political, independent, and entirely volunteer operated. SAGE was established in February 2020.

Come along for a night of casual games and community at U&I Cafe.
The event starts at 6:30 PM, the hosts will be there beforehand. Our preference is for the outdoor area which you walk through to get to the main counter inside. We are likely to be inside if the weather is unpleasant.
To find us look for identifiers such as green wristbands, a SAGE sign and games. If you are not sure where the group is seated, you can also message an event host, we try to check messages when we can.

Feel free to bring your own games, however, keep in mind it may be hard to teach anything too complicated. You are also welcome to just hang out. Feel free to change seats to help game flow, or to be part of a different game.

This is usually a medium-level sensory event. It is in a public space where food is served, and U&I is sometimes quite busy.
Please be mindful that people at the event will have a range of communication preferences, so remember to be kind and respectful. Help the hosts out if you can, they take on a lot to run the event.

Public transport- U&I is 500m from Perth Busport and 650m from Perth Station.
Parking- street parking in Northbridge is free after 6pm, or $5 in City of Perth Parking car parks.

This is a weekly Creativity Craft and Lego Event!

WHAT WE DO: We do Craft, Lego Building, Art, Knitting Etc. everyone does thier pwn thing and then we sometimes chat as we work. You are welcome to bring your own project or use what resources are available (mainly colouring books). We will also have a table setup for people who want to play Board/Card games. One of our members usually brings her Nintendo Switch, and we often play Mario Cart or Mario Party towards the end of the night.

You're welcome to bring a support worker, family member, friend, or Figets/ Lopps/ Headphones, etc, to provide you with support. This is a safe space.

We're passionate about ensuring everyone feels included, so we ask that everyone comes with an open and empathetic attitude to differences and a desire to actively promote inclusion! All are welcome regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion. We, as autistic individuals, have all experienced discrimination and social exclusion, so please bring your best attitude!!

We ask that our regulars bring an OPTIONAL donation of $2 or $5 to assist with ongoing running costs of SAGE and this Creativity Group. NOTE This only as you can afford, not required.

PARKING: Free parking after 6pm in the Perth Train Station carpark. Ensure you enter AFTER 6pm, or you will have to pay $6ph.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT: The Citiplace is on the overpass above Perth Train Station.
