It’s that festive time of year and you know what that means? PAR-TAY time!

You are cordially invited to the 5rd annual South Central Coast WordPress Adventure Group Virtual White Elephant Holiday Gift Exchange. Okay, yep, that was a mouthful. So, let’s just call it the SCCWAG White Elephant Holiday Gift Exchange.

I've been working throughout the year with Santa and his Elf team to bring a merrier and brighter version of the Gift Exchange. I'm excited to share it with you!

The party starts at 6pm. White Elephant begins at 6:30pm. BYOB (Eggnog, Mulled Wine or LaCroix (no one’s judging!). Get festive with your attire, filter or background!

What is a White Elephant?

It’s like Secret Santa on steroids. You bring an anonymous gift to participate and you’ll get the chance to choose another anonymous gift.

How Does It Work?

Numbers are drawn to see who gets first dibs at choosing a gift. Those who follow have the option to steal or open a new gift. The gifts can range from the ridiculous to the awesome, to the corny to the supreme. As long as they do NOT violate the WordPress Code of Conduct:

Okay… How does this work virtually? Seriously. How?

Well, since it’s virtual, the gifts have to be virtually exchangeable. What kind of gifts? Here are some examples:

*Licenses to unlimited software you own
*Links to uplifting and inspiring sites
*Links to online games
*Links to printable downloads
*100% off coupon code to something cool
*Links to videos that provide valuable life hacks
*Give away one of your services
*Free limited time or lifetime membership
*Link to an amazing playlist on Spotify
*A Donation to a favorite charity

You get the picture!

Just remember, you can make the gift as silly, awesome, ridiculous, precious, etc. as you like. However, remember to stay within the WordPress meetup code of conduct:

So… How is this done anonymously? Huh?

You will anonymously provide a link to a Google Doc that contains the A title, image, and or/link to your offering and description of your gift. If there is a license or discount code involved keep that secret, then you can email that later once the gift lands with the final owner. (Remember, you can STEAL!)
I’ll announce more details at the party. So arrive on time! And have your Google Doc link ready. I'll provide the submission process and even wrapping paper!
