This MeetUp group is a collection of vintage and modern Swing & Social dance events and classes in Las Vegas, NV. Events & classes are hosted by Professor Jitterbug's School of Swing (also host of this Meetup group); SwingDanceVegas, the community for vintage swing dances & events for over 20 years; and, Famous Fridays, a local West Coast Swing community. If you are looking to meet new people while learning a new skill and gaining a new hobby, you're in the right place!
And if you're nervous, well, we all were our first time. Remember, the best time to learn how to dance was 20 years ago. The second best time is now!

$20 per week or $60 for the full 4-WeeksThis October, step into the Rhythm Time Machine as we travel through four decades of the most iconic dance in American history: the Charleston!
In this 4-week progressive series, we’ll explore how the Charleston evolved from a flapper’s delight in the 1920s, into a jazz-era staple of the 1930s, into a high-energy Swing-era favorite of the 1940s, and finally, a staple of the 1990s Swing revival. From solo steps to partnered patterns, each week will build on the last—perfect for beginners and seasoned dancers alike.SCHEDULE:
Oct 7: The 1920s Charleston - Classic Solo & Partnered Basics
Oct 14: The 1930s Charleston – Swing-Style Charleston
Oct 21: The 1940s Charleston – Tandem Charleston
Oct 28: The 1990s Charleston - Hand-to-Hand CharlestonWhether you’ve never danced a step or you’re looking to add some jazz-age flair to your swing dancing, this class will give you the foundation, history, and rhythm you need to bring the Charleston to life.
