Ed Freyfogle (https://www.linkedin.com/in/edfreyfogle/) will talk to us about the OpenCage Geocoder (https://geocoder.opencagedata.com/) an API for forward and reverse geocoding built on top of OpenStreetMap and other open geodata sources. The service provides a single, simple API to make life easy for developers e.g. by enriching your huge spatial data set into specific locations.

The talk will also explain what the OpenStreetMap project - with 3 million registered users and well over a million edits a day - is and how it has evolved.

About the speaker:

Ed started his career as a software developer for yahoo.de (http://yahoo.de/) in Munich. Besides growing OpenCage he invests in and advises European location-based service start-ups." Previously he spent 10 years in the London start-up scene, where he co-founded and later successfully exited a real estate meta-search engine. He now lives in Barcelona with his wife and two children.
