Mystics, tech nerds and the Simulation Hypothesis. Reality might not be real.
Detalles
What if the ancient mystics were right all along, and modern technology is finally catching up? In this session we'll explore the Simulation Hypothesis: the idea that our reality might be a simulation. We are using Rizwan Virk's book partly as a source for this session. We'll look at the convergence between Eastern philosophy (Maya, the Buddhist concept of illusion), Western philosophy (Plato's Cave, Descartes' demon), quantum physics, and video game technology. Whether you find the idea compelling or absurd, it's an interesting lens through which to examine what we mean by "reality".
This session will be led by Amelia and James.
