Moonrise Over the Tappan Zee
Detalles
Join us for an evening along the bank of the Hudson River as we photograph the full moon rising over the Tappan Zee Bridge.
This timing is especially exciting because moonrise is at 8:15pm, just minutes before sunset at 8:20pm, creating a short window where both the sky and the bridge may still hold beautiful color and detail.
We will meet on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 at 6:30pm. This gives everyone ample time to find parking, walk to the shooting area, settle in, and set up equipment before the light begins to change.
Exact meeting location will be communicated privately to attendees.
This is a more technically focused photography outing, and participants should be comfortable operating their camera in manual mode.
A camera with a zoom lens of at least 200mm is strongly recommended in order to properly frame the moon against the bridge structure. A sturdy tripod is essential.
A remote trigger is not required, but highly recommended to minimize camera shake during longer exposures.
Before the event, I will share suggested camera settings and general shooting recommendations with attendees.
We will wrap up around 9pm.
As always, this is a relaxed and supportive gathering focused on observing, learning, and photographing together. All experience levels are welcome, as long as you have the required equipment for this particular shoot.
