🎞 Vernissage — "La Zone d'Exclusion" 📅 Samedi 11 Avril — 18H15 - 19H15 La zone d'exclusion est un territoire équivoque. Toute interférence extérieure est hostile ; ou est-ce l'intérieur qui est inhospitalier ? La réalité se dit à l'impératif, dans des couleurs stridentes. La frontière se dessine comme unique point de repère. Détournant les codes de la signalétique du danger, ce projet questionne la rhétorique sécuritaire et les discours qui construisent l'Autre comme un risque. Son but : interroger la peur et ses objets, surtout les plus abstraits. Comprendre ce qu'elle dit de nous et des sociétés dans lesquelles nous vivons. Disséquer le signe pour en extraire le sens. - Angelina « Linus » Andryushchenko est peintre et autrice de bande dessinée franco-ukrainienne. Au fil des années, elle a développé une pratique artistique pluridisciplinaire, allant puiser son inspiration dans les temps morts et les interstices. L’abstrait, le mystique, le queer et le post-apocalyptique se côtoient (et parfois se bousculent) dans ses œuvres. Bienvenue à la projection du film-essai EX-VOTO (2026, 80mn) de Hu Jiamin à l’occasion du finissage de son exposition « Ex-voto politiques » au Dissident Club jeudi 9 avril de 19h à 21h ! Le film est une élégie visuelle et sonore qui entrelace les peintures ex-voto de Hu Jiamin et les événements sociaux et personnels (pandémie, manifestations, résistance, exil, son arrestation en Chine en 2017, son voyage en Russie en 2025 etc.) avec lesquels ses peintures sont associées, de manière complexe, nuancée, poétique et humoristique. Join us for a long pose workshop with a female model, led by figurative artist John Kelly. The session consists of 45 minutes of drawing or painting, followed by a 15-minute break, and then another 45 minutes with the same pose. John will be present throughout the entire session to offer individual guidance on the principles of drawing and painting from life. If you prefer a more self-directed approach, you are welcome to work independently at any time. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and more experienced artists. It offers a supportive environment to develop your artistic style while exploring different aspects of academic drawing or painting, experimenting with new techniques, or refining compositional ideas. It's designed to guide your exploration of the human form through an anatomical lens while capturing the model's emotional presence. As always, posing for you are professional fine art models affiliated with the Beaux-Arts de Paris and other Parisian life drawing ateliers. Please bring your preferred art materials. All media are allowed, including pastels, ink, watercolor, or paint. 🌸 Chaque mardi, nous organisons une soirée durant laquelle nous pratiquons la méditation nommée Shamatha-Vipashyana, que beaucoup connaissent aujourd’hui sous le nom de Mindfulness. Une première partie est composée d’un temps de méditation de 40 minutes, puis, après un temps de pause, la deuxième partie est dédiée à un enseignement portant sur la méditation, la tradition bouddhique, l’art et la poésie modernes, l’écologie…. This month we will be discussing **Frank Santoro**, an American cartoonist, painter, and comics critic known for his expressive lines, experimental page layouts, and vibrant use of color. His graphic novels—including *Storeyville*, *Pompeii*, and *Pittsburgh*—blend personal storytelling with innovative visual structure, often exploring memory, place, and relationships. In addition to his comics, Santoro has been an influential voice in comics education and criticism, co-founding the magazine *ComicsComics* and creating the **Santoro Correspondence Course for Comic Book Makers**, which has helped train and inspire a new generation of cartoonists. Afterwards, we will have time to work on our individual art projects, hang out, and if anyone is interested in feedback on their work, there will be time for that as well.

AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s? This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
