Try Dive (PADI Discover Scuba) - Introduction to Scuba Diving - Official PADI intro – This is the opportunity to try the experience of scuba diving and all the kit - £60.00 (Tues, Mon, Fri, Sat & Sun) 2. Scuba Review - Scuba diving skills review in preparation for dive season or planned holiday - £100.00. (Based in West London (Tues, Wed & Thurs) so email me to arrange) 3. Full PADI Refresher Reactivate Course - £175.00. This includes full refresher and Re Active Touch (Theory refresh) (Tues & Sun) 4. Pool Session - To try out kit and spend some time in the pool - £30.00. LOCATION OF EVENT Address is Marshall Street Leisure Centre 15 Marshall St, London W1F 7EL The fantastic leisure centre at Marshall Street in Soho, London. These facilities are perfect for our group as it is very central and the facility has just been refurbished. These facilities are perfect for any introduction to diving. The pool depths range from 1 metre to 3 metres which is sufficient for all diving training requirements. Our central London dive courses take place just behind London's iconic Carnaby Street in the state-of-the-art £38m Marshall Street leisure centre, containing arguably the finest pool in central London. This 30m long pool gives students tonnes of room to swim around in, practice their skills and fine tune their buoyancy. The pool is constantly heated to 27 degrees celsius and has a study conference room. Alternative locations available upon request and arranged by email. West London - Unit 5, Chertsey Industrial Park, Chertsey, KT16 8FH South East & Kent – Weald Way, Caterham, CR3 6EJ PADI DISCOVER SCUBA - £60.00 A try dive is also available which is a taster dive so you can briefly experience being underwater with the equipment. Have ever wondered what it's like to breathe underwater? This is an ideal way of experiencing the under water world without having to commit to a PADI course like for example the PADI Open Water. You will be assisted by excellent qualified instructors who are trained to offer you the best experience and make you feel comfortable in the water allowing you to enjoy the experience. During the scuba diving try dive experience you'll learn how to use scuba equipment in a warm pool and get a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. There is nothing like breathing underwater for the very first time. It is the perfect preparation for the PADI Open Water Course. You learn the basics you need to dive under the direct supervision of one of our PADI Professionals. Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to glide around underwater while wearing it. Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course when you take the next step. All the equipment you will need is included in a Discover Scuba Diving experience. PADI REFRESHER DIVE/REVIEW - £100.00 If you are looking to go on holiday soon and have not dived for over a year then you will want to consider completing a scuba diving refresher course. This course will give you the confidence again prior to any planned holiday. If you haven’t dived for a while, or are a bit apprehensive about getting back in the water and want to freshen up your skills then a PADI Scuba Review is for you. Most dive centres around the world will insist that you complete a Scuba Review if you haven't dived for 12 months or longer. The course normally takes 3-4 hours. Please remember to bring along your PADI certification card and log book. PADI REACTIVE – This is the full PADI Refresher which includes refreshing of the theory as well. This is available at £175.00 and includes refreshing of all the dive skills and also the PADI theory refresh. POOL SESSION - £30.00 If you are looking to just spend time in the water and you are already qualified as PADI Open Water then you can join us for this session and spend time in the pool testing out kit and practicing. This way you will not have the pressure of group holiday diving and you can have around 1 hour 30 minutes to do what you want. If you want to undertake any of the above dives then RSVP and let me know which dive you want. All dives will need to be booked in by us and paid for so payment will be requested prior to the event itself once dive has been confirmed.

You can expect a friendly introduction to the sport, but in all honesty you will dive in at the deep end to learn UWR. Please bring swimwear and an open mind and expectation to have fun. We can lend an UWR hat, snorkle, mask and fins. Although if you have them already it is better to bring your own. Expect to swim, dive to 4m depth, hold your breath longer than you thought you could, be involved in drills and games. It is full contact and you will be wrestling other players to take the ball and pass to your team or score a goal. Please get on touch with questions or intent to attend prior to session so that we can support with kit etc.

London Board Riders surf trip to Bude. All abilities welcome. Lots of schools and rental shops. Can head down Thursday or Friday. Surfers and kitesurfers welcome, there are some great spots around. How LBR works? We don't charge any fees, you simply use this group to coordinate rides and accommodation with others to keep the cost down and have mates to do activities with. How to book? DM hosts Alistair or Kristen to be added to the trip chat. From there we can add you to houses and car sharing depending on availability. Rules? Please be respectful of others. No sexual harassment will be allowed - please come to any of the admins to report an issue. Fancy refreshing your night sailing skills? Join us for a busy 24 hours to do both, in time for a new sailing season.** Parking a boat and night sailing are two of the things we learn on our Day Skipper course, but they can continue to cause anxiety even for experienced sailors. To give club members an opportunity to practise these skills before a new sailing season gets underway in earnest, we're running two training days in February - this page is for the trip on Saturday / Sunday but [click here](https://www.londonsailing.club/Events/Calendar/View?id=193) if you would prefer to come on Friday / Saturday. This is a non-commercial trip costing £130 run on a shared-cost basis. *Plan* Arrive at Port Hamble marina for a quick dinner (not included in the event cost), an evening briefing, and few hours of night sailing in the Solent. After returning to the marina, the following day will be spent practising close quarters boat handling, including berthing/unberthing the yacht in various scenarios and different states of tide. If there is time there may be an opportunity to practise other skills like MOB recovery or mooring under sail but the focus will be on close quarters manoeuvring. The boat will return to the marina for a quick tidy-up, and you should be free to leave by 4pm. No formal instruction will be offered, and everyone aboard will do an equal share of the driving and the leading of the manoeuvres. Simon Tottman will act as the Skipper and will have final say on the itinerary. The weekend is being organised by Club Chair Maurice MacSweeney. *Participants* This event is not suitable for beginners and those attending will already need to have had some sailing experience, and most likely will have completed a Day Skipper practical course. Priority will be given to those participating in the club's Take The Helm programme, and those who have expressed interest in skippering for future club trips. We want to give as many members as possible the opportunity to practise their skills, so whilst you are welcome to express interest in attending both days, we may not be able to confirm your place for[ the additional day](https://www.londonsailing.club/Events/Calendar/View?id=193) until nearer the time. *Yacht* We’ve chartered a 37ft Beneteau Oceanis. It's coded for 8 people but we'll be a maximum of 5 plus skipper to ensure everyone has enough space and plenty of time on the helm. Accommodation will be aboard the yacht in shared double cabins. *Skipper* This event is skippered by club member and former Chair Simon Tottman, who has skippered well over 200 days / 5000 miles on yachts from 37’ to 53’, mainly in the Solent but also in the Med and Caribbean, as well as skippering Round the Island and Cowes Week races and crewing across the Atlantic. Simon holds the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, Yachtmaster Instructor, VHF, PB2, First Aid, Sea Survival and Offshore Safety qualifications. *Kit* No special or expensive sailing kit required! Just bring practical footwear and warm clothing to suit the weather forecast - you're likely to need warm layers. Lifejackets are provided. Foul weather gear can be hired locally if needed. Towels and bedding aren’t provided, so please bring a towel, pillow and sleeping bag. Don't forget to bring some gloves, a warm hat and, if you have one, a headtorch with a red light. *Cost* This is a non-commercial trip run on a shared-cost basis. The cost is £130 per person, which covers the yacht charter, fuel, marina/harbour fees, breakfasts, lunches, snacks and soft drinks, and a £5 contribution to the club's Muck Up Fund which allows us to help skippers on club trips manage the risk of accidental damage caused by trip participants. The event fee doesn’t cover evening meals or getting yourself to/from the trip. We ask for the full amount up front to secure your place. Note that, because this trip is being advertised via the London Sailing Club’s platforms, any participant who is not already a full member of the Club (which costs £24 per year) will need to join prior to the start of the trip. Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games! The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
