Dialogues #32 - Topic: Automated Commonwealth (UBI)
In a world full of opinions, noise, and quick reactions, we often miss spaces for real dialogue — for slowing down, listening, and connecting with one another. This evening is an invitation to do exactly that.
Join us for an open and friendly evening (in English & free of charge) dedicated to Automated Commonwealth (UBI - Universal Basic Income), can we use AI for people's welfare? Is it a basic income what we really need?
We will brainstorm together in an Open Space–style format, where participants choose topics themselves, and what we want to discuss from this broad topic - questions to help you get inspired:
Is it possible to achieve automated UBI?
Is UBI what we need, or is it better social infrastructure?
How do we start building such system?
Afterwards, participants will form small groups to explore the questions and insights around the topics
18:00 – Doors open
18:15 – Introduction & topic selection
18:40 - We start discussions
19:40 - Closing session (sharing activities)
20:00 - Networking & Connect
What to expect:
A welcoming space for newcomers and regulars alike
Be slightly pushed to socialise
Open, participant-led small-group discussions on diverse perspectives
No expertise required — everyone’s opinion matters!
Safe, respectful, and judgment-free conversations
More about sharing and reflecting than debating or convincing
No pressure to speak — listening is just as valuable
Not a lecture, not a debate club, and definitely not intimidating!
Feel free to bring some snacks to share!
Friendly dogs are welcome!
If you are a regular that appreciate us and can help, or a newcomer who enjoyed the evening, and wants to help, we have recently set a patreon page where you can support us!

2026 #1 Evals & Agent Workflows
We’ve got another portion of AI talks for you, so come to our second Prague Gen AI Meetup of the year.
## NEW VENUE (very important)
**Pracovna & Laskafe**
Vlkova 628/36, 130 00 Praha 3-Žižkov
## Venue Schedule
* **18:30** Doors open
* **18:45** Talks start
* **20:45** Talks end
* **21:00** Snacks and beer
## What’s On The Agenda
* **Talks:** Again, no hype, just the stuff you want to know.
* **Snacks and Beer:** Grab a bite and a brew while talking shop.
* **Networking:** Meet other people in the field. No fluff, just good tech talk.
## Talks
### Šimon Podhajský (Head of AI @ Waypoint)
**The Eval Flywheel: From "Works on My Laptop" to Systematic Quality**
Most teams shipping GenAI products have no evaluation system. They have vibes, a few saved prompts, and hope. This talk doesn’t start with “build an eval suite”, it starts with **observability**: if you can’t see what’s happening in production, nothing else matters. From there, we build the **eval flywheel**, a practical pattern where production observability feeds error analysis, error analysis generates eval cases, and eval cases prevent recurrence. Your evaluation suite isn’t something you design upfront, it’s something that grows out of understanding your production failures.
### Ondřej Romancov (Engineering Lead @ Duvo.ai)
**Building agents with agents**
Duvo is building a platform for AI agents, and we’re running our engineering on agents too. Sharing practical tips and workflows we’ve found useful along the way.
Let’s get down to the real talk.
Kutna Hora "The city of Silver"

• Professional and friendly guide

Go Meetup #23 - Celebration of release Go 1.26
**Hosted by Pure Storage**
Please note at the Pure Storage office, all meetup attendees will be required to sign a generic NDA used for all office visitors to be able to attend the meetup.
Doors are open from 17:30, talks will start 18:00, and we have 2 talks and panel discussion.
**1\. Daniel Turecek \(Pure Storage\) \- What is new in Go 1\.26**
In this lightning talk, we’ll tour what’s coming in **Go 1.26** (based on the current draft release notes) and why it matters for real-world services. We’ll cover runtime and performance wins like the default **Green Tea GC**, faster **cgo** calls, improved stack allocation, and new profiling options aimed at spotting goroutine leaks. We’ll also look at security and crypto upgrades including 64-bit heap address randomization, the new **`crypto/hpke`** package, and **post-quantum hybrid key exchange on by default in TLS**. Finally, we’ll touch on pragmatic developer-experience changes—from `new(expr)` and richer generics constraints to tooling updates like `go fix`, `pprof` flame graphs by default, and compatibility-oriented module defaults.
**2\. Vilibald Wanca \- Nail the Basics \- S01E02**
Good Go code starts with a simple, predictable layout. In this talk, we’ll cover the standard approach to structuring Go projects: keep things flat early on, map one package to one directory, and keep tests right next to the code they validate (like `user.go` and `user_test.go`). We’ll also look at common structural mistakes—such as over-engineering too soon or importing Java/Python-style layering that fights Go’s package model—and how to avoid them. Finally, you’ll leave with a handful of quick wins you can apply immediately: formatting and import automation with `gofmt`/`goimports`, stronger feedback loops with `golangci-lint`, and editor setups (VSCode Go extension or GoLand) that make the “Go way” feel effortless.
**3\. Panel discussion with our speakers on AI tools and Go development**
Join us for a panel discussion with our speakers on how AI tools are changing Go development in practice. We’ll compare real workflows for using assistants to design, code, test, refactor, and review Go services—what actually saves time, what introduces risk, and where humans still need to stay firmly in the loop. Expect practical tips on prompt patterns, maintaining code quality, avoiding “AI-shaped” over-engineering, and integrating AI into existing tooling like linters, editors, and CI. Bring your questions—we’ll keep it candid, concrete, and Go-focused.

Literary Reading Circle: “A Visit” by Steven Millhauser
From one of the masters of contemporary American magical realism, this story is a highly original and surprising tale of a man visiting an old friend and his surprise at who (or what) he finds out his new wife is.
We will meet and discuss our reactions/interpretations.
The story is too new to have a free versions online but I will provide a pdf access in a few days. You can listen to the story [here](https://podcasts.apple.com/cz/podcast/richard-powers-reads-steven-millhauser/id256945396?i=1000379551486) plus it includes some discussion.

• What we'll do
This meet up is for those who are learning English as a second language and want a chance to practice. We will provide a fun and interesting activity to encourage simple English conversation. It may be a game, an interesting topic, or whatever. We promise to keep the evening relaxed and give you a chance to practice your English.
• What to bring
Just you.
• Important to know
We are hosted by Do Slova Praha. As a church, we want to help our community in practical ways. We may hand out information to other events that our church does, but do not worry... this is not a religious event. Just come to practice English :)

About permaculture, agroforestry and effective action
Abstract:
I'm tired to see ground that could be used for heirloom turnips (they grow better in cold and you can hardly see them in shops, there are courgettes and tomatoes in winter and spring instead..) trees and bushes being used exclusively for grass instead.
Mushrooms can be grown easily and safely outdoors in wooden logs..
Some parks in several cities specially abroad but also in Czech Rep. and areas elsewhere seem to want to imitate those that were imitating Victorian times: lush huge lawns.
Do we all really like grandeur without a trace of food gardens, and because that's how it's done it has to be this way?
People would not take care and give continuity to small initiatives, many have been there done that. But isn't it the fault of the organization always? I think so. People like the idea of thinking outside of the box, [while being] inside the box.
That just doesn't really work very well.
So this is an invite, for each other to be able to know what might appeal to others in the framework of finding spaces to grow food to not need to rely so much on what one sees in the shops.

Rhino Barn Tour @ The Wilds
**Summary**
For this event, we will do the [Rhino Barn Tour](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour) at [The Wilds](https://www.thewilds.org/), a ten-thousand acre conservation center in Muskingum County. It is the largest such center in North America and one of the largest in the entire world.
During this tour, we'll visit The Wilds' rhino herd in their state-of-the-art heated barns and learn how The Wilds' animal management team takes care of one of the largest herds of rhinos outside of Africa and Asia.
**The date and time of this tour**
We will be doing the 1:00 p.m. [Rhino Barn Tour](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour) on Saturday, February 28. The tour is scheduled to last 90 minutes.
**What you need to do to attend**
Signing up here on Meetup will not get you into The Wilds for the tour. You must go out to The Wilds' [website](https://www.thewilds.org/) and [buy a ticket](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour).
Please [purchase your ticket](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour), then sign up here on Meetup so I know how many to expect.
**Attendance cap**
There are only eight total slots/tickets available for this tour. As I obviously have already bought one of the tickets, that leaves seven spaces for everyone else.
If you are interested in this event, I urge you to [buy a ticket](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour) at The Wilds' website as soon as possible. Since their website is obviously public, nothing prevents other people having nothing to do with *GOhio!* from buying their own tickets, thereby potentially taking an available slot away from you.
**Additional notes on attendance**
I have now run several events at The Wilds. While the location of The Wilds and the pricing of the tickets generally leads to small turnouts, the people who have gone have all enjoyed it and were glad they went.
If you've never been to The Wilds and you like zoos or animals at all, you are likely to find any tour at The Wilds to be a rewarding experience.
**Tickets and pricing**
[Tickets](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour) for this tour are $95, or $76 if you're a Wilds' member. I've posted screen shots, below, to help you be sure you're buying tickets for the correct event.
Wilds' memberships pay for themselves if you go to The Wilds at least twice a year, and [Columbus Zoo members](https://www.columbuszoo.org/membership) get a discount on memberships to The Wilds. I will always run at least two events a year at The Wilds.
Tickets for all Wilds' tours must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance of the actual tour.
**Cancellations and refunds**
Per The Wilds' [Cancellation Policy](https://www.thewilds.org/policies): *In order to be eligible for refund and accrue no rescheduling fees, cancellations must be made at least 14 days in advance of reservation. Cancellations made within 14 days of reservation will not receive a refund.*
You may [contact The Wilds](https://www.thewilds.org/contact) at (740) 638-5030 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., or you can email them at information@thewilds.org.
**Waiver of liability**
After you purchase your ticket, you will likely be asked to fill out a waiver of liability. This is a very short document and should take you no more than two minutes to complete.
**Where we'll meet**
We will meet at The Wilds, whose actual address is [14000 International Rd, Cumberland, OH 43732](https://www.google.com/maps/place/14000+International+Rd,+Cumberland,+OH+43732/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x8837dae07a595557:0xa1ceca93325a8bd1?sa=X&ved=1t:242&ictx=111).
Please try to be there by 12:30 p.m. For most Wilds' tours, a shuttle bus will take you to the actual spot of the tour. So think of this as though you're going to the airport to catch a flight. It helps to be on time.
The Wilds generally asks that people arrive at least thirty minutes because the scheduled start time of their tour.
**GPS / Getting to The Wilds**
The Wilds is in a very rural area, but I've never had a problem getting there with my GPS (I have Verizon). I've also uploaded a JPG map, below, of Muskingum County.
Sometimes, though, it's hard to get a signal when you're at The Wilds and getting ready to leave. So you might want to consider downloading an offline map in Google Maps. Your cell phone should pick up a signal, however, within a few minutes after you leave.
The Wilds' Visitor Center does have free Wi-Fi.
**Carpooling?**
If you want to carpool, I recommend discussing this in the comments, below, to this event. While I don't myself carpool, I will do what I can to help you arrange something if I can.
**The weather**
Dress for the weather. Just because the barn is heated doesn't mean it will be warm. And wear closed-toed shoes.
Wilds' tours typically run no matter what the weather is.
**After the tour**
Once we're done with the rhinos, we'll head over to the very highly rated [Y-Bridge Brewing Company](https://ybridgebrewing.com/). The brewery is about thirty minutes from The Wilds, and it will be on the way back to Columbus for most, if not all, of us. The brewery's actual address is [1417 Linden Ave Ste D, Zanesville, OH 43701](https://www.google.com/maps/place/1417+Linden+Ave+d,+Zanesville,+OH+43701/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x8837edd6cc50824f:0xe3a0af1ccb2aefbf?sa=X&ved=1t:242&ictx=111).
Y-Bridge Brewing does not serve food; however, they have several [food options](https://ybridgebrewing.com/food-options). I encourage you to check these out ahead of time on their website for yourself. However, here are a few of them:
*Within walking distance -- 120 feet away*
* [Angry Bull Saloon](https://www.facebook.com/AngryBullSaloonZanesville/) (pizza & subs)
* The Corner Pub Sports Bar and Grill (classic bar food)
*Delivery options -- [Door Dash](https://www.doordash.com/)*
* [4 Star Pizza](https://fourstarpizza.com/), (740) 452-9300
* [Donatos](https://www.donatos.com/), (740) 452-7900
* [Pizza Cottage](https://www.pizza-cottage.com/), (740) 455-6000
* [Dominos](https://www.dominos.com/), (740) 455-3126
* [Papa John's](https://www.papajohns.com/), (740) 450-4100
If you live in the area or can't make The Wilds but still want to meet us at the brewery, that's fine too.
