We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future. Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It should be quieter on a Tuesday evening than near or at the weekend. Though I have an interest in Japan all nationalities of course are welcome in our group. We'll do relaxation exercises, games, improvisations, storytelling, and a bit later on we'll start working on character and text. It’s usually practiced lying down with a teacher guiding the session. The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium (homeostasis) – the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness. **Welcome the New Year 2026 Together** Begin the year in a clear and grounded way through Sanskrit chants, rainbow songs, shamanic chants, and voicework. This New Year’s Day gathering offers a simple and steady space to arrive, reset, and align with the energy of the year ahead. Mantras are traditional Sanskrit sound formulas used in meditation. Their vibration helps calm the mind, regulate the nervous system, and bring the body into a state of balance. Chanting in a group strengthens this effect, creating a shared field of stability, clarity, and gentle uplift. **The Energy of 2026** 2026 carries a theme of integration, rebuilding, and clearer direction. Many describe it as a year for grounding new intentions, strengthening foundations, and choosing alignment over distraction. Beginning the year with sound and intention can support focus, coherence, and inner steadiness as the year opens. **What to Expect** The venue is a short 5-minute walk from Elephant & Castle and Borough stations. We open and close with guided meditation. After the opening meditation, each person is invited to set an intention or dedication for the practice. These are released with a shared AUM.
