• If you RSVP for an event, please attend that event or cancel at least two hours before the event starts. Members that no-show will receive one warning then will be benched (suspended) from events for two weeks. Three no-shows can result in a permanent ban. (No-shows create uneven numbers and prevent folks on the waitlist from playing. Please do your part to un-RSVP as soon as you know that you cannot attend an event.)
• Members must have a way to communicate with organizers and hosts. This can be through the Meetup app messages or by providing other contact info.
• Any member can ask a host or organizer to have their skill rated for event attendance purposes. You will not be allowed to participate in events higher than your NTRP rating. (We may try to limit numbers or have multiple events on a given day to accommodate players of different skill levels and also to help alleviate the court availability problem).
• All members shall conduct good sportsmanship and be courteous to other members at all times.
• Sexual harassment, racism, sexism or any kind of intolerance will not be tolerated and will result in the permanent ban from the group.
• If member receives three warning infractions, the member will be suspended from the Meetup for a period of one month. If a member is suspended twice (six warnings), that member will be permanently banned and any membership dues will then be forfeited.
• If you are scheduling to play with others outside of a MoCo Topspinners event, and you know that there is a MoCo Topspinners event scheduled for that day at that time, please try to use courts other than the courts where the event is scheduled, or move your time so that it does not conflict with the Topspinners event.

Welcome to Casual Dining Out, the event series where we explore counterserve establishments, food halls, and other venues for quick bites of Asian, "fusion", and other fare! As in the past, the field for these events will typically be limited, so please RSVP quickly if you know you're coming (or drop out quickly if you can't make it to give others a chance). RSVPs will close at 4 PM the day of the event and anyone who drops afterwards may be subject to the dreaded "no show" designation. This edition: a brand new sushi buffet! The code to access the gym will be sent to people who have registered shortly before the event. The code should be entered at the second door (furthest from Whitehaven Street) at the building opposite the main entrance of the school. There is limited on-site surface-level parking available, as well as street parking around the facility. The underground parking lot off Whitehaven Street costs $5 an hour. As always, participation in the volleyball is undertaken at the participant's own risk. Happy New Year, Adventurers! Continuing a tradition that started in 1991, Adventuring's first hike of the New Year will be at the Great Falls of the Potomac, arguably the most spectacular natural wonder in the National Capital Area. 2026 being an even year, we will focus on the Maryland side of Great Falls. We will gather at Great Falls Tavern and head upstream along the C&O Canal towpath, with the Canal on one side and the Potomac River on the other. After a couple of miles we will reach Swains Lock, a scenic and historic spot which should have enough picnic tables for our lunch. After lunch we'll retrace our steps back to the Tavern. Some of us may want to continue downstream a short ways past the Tavern to the trail leading to the Falls Overlook, while others may skip the Overlook and head out right away. Total length of this easy, level round-trip hike will be about 5 miles. If the weather cooperates, a stop at the beer garden at nearby Old Anglers Inn on MacArthur Boulevard may be in order. Warming up at the Irish Inn at Glen Echo may also be a tempting after-hike option. Those wishing to participate in our carpool either as drivers or passengers will gather by the Panera on Wisconsin Avenue by the Tenleytown Metro Station at 11 a.m. Passengers will give their drivers $5. Those wishing to drive directly to Great Falls should plan to be at the Tavern by 11:45 to rendezvous with the carpoolers. Everyone should expect to pay the $20/vehicle admission fee at the entrance to Great Falls unless you or someone else in your vehicle has a Park Pass. Hikers (and non) will continue a long tradition (since 1975) by gathering in Georgetown on January 1 to kick off a new year of hiking! Come join old and new friends in ushering in the New Year, while working off some of the holiday cheer that's starting to show. Leashed pets are also welcome.
