Free Spanish–English intercambio hosted by a native English speaker. We meet every week from 7–9pm in Sandwhichez in central Sabadell to chat, practise languages, and have fun. Companys/es/is, Us anunciem que reprenem el grup de persones LGTBI+ per cantar en català, sensa experiència, és a dir el **Grup Vocal Treu la Llengua** per tal de cantar, passar-s'ho bé i difondre el cant en la nostra llengua per a la comunitat LGBTI, Tindrà lloc els dijous del proper trimestre, de les 20.00 h a les 21.30 h. When I moved to Barcelona, I worked long hours and somehow still couldn't find people to actually practice Spanish with. ​I tried courses. I tried Duolingo and Babbel. They all felt the same: awkward exercises about topics I didn't care about, completely disconnected from my real life. ​So I figured out my own method. It worked. Aquest grup està pensat per a tothom qui vulgui practicar idiomes i millorar les seves habilitats en un ambient social. Ens interessen tots els idiomes (català, castellà, anglès, francès, alemany, àrab, rus, xinès, persa, gallec, euskera, grec...), i ens agradaria especialment donar més espai als que sovint queden en segon pla. Normalment ens reunim en un bar, així que demanem que cadascú consumeixi alguna cosa a canvi d'utilitzar el local. A més, demanem una contribució d'**1 € per sessió** per cobrir les despeses de publicitat a la plataforma, que oscil·len entre 12 i 20 € segons el pla escollit. Dit això, som molt oberts i flexibles amb el format: podem quedar a l'aire lliure quan faci bon temps, en espais culturals com L'Estruch, en alguna associació de jocs de taula per fer una partida mentre practiquem idiomes, o fins i tot organitzar excursions i altres activitats. La idea és integrar els idiomes en la vida quotidiana, perquè creiem que és una de les millors maneres de practicar-los. En general, estem totalment oberts a noves propostes i idees. *** **ESP** ¡Bienvenidos al **Intercambio de idiomas de Sabadell**! Este grupo está pensado para quien quiera practicar idiomas y mejorar sus habilidades en un ambiente social. Nos interesan todos los idiomas (catalán, castellano, inglés, francés, alemán, árabe, ruso, chino, persa, gallego, euskera, griego...), y nos gustaría especialmente dar más espacio a los que suelen quedar en un segundo plano. Normalmente nos reunimos en un bar, así que pedimos que cada persona consuma algo a cambio de utilizar el local. Además, pedimos una contribución de **1 € por sesión** para cubrir los gastos de publicidad en la plataforma, que oscilan entre 12 y 20 € según el plan escogido. Dicho esto, somos muy abiertos y flexibles con el formato: podemos quedar al aire libre cuando haga buen tiempo, en espacios culturales como L'Estruch, en alguna asociación de juegos de mesa para echar una partida mientras practicamos idiomas, o incluso organizar excursiones y otras actividades. La idea es integrar los idiomas en la vida cotidiana, porque creemos que esa es una de las mejores formas de practicarlos. En general, estamos totalmente abiertos a nuevas propuestas e ideas. *** **DEU** Willkommen beim **Sprachaustausch Sabadell**! Diese Gruppe richtet sich an alle, die Sprachen üben und ihre Kenntnisse in geselliger Atmosphäre verbessern möchten. Uns interessieren alle Sprachen (Katalanisch, Spanisch, Englisch, Französisch, Deutsch, Arabisch, Russisch, Chinesisch, Persisch, Galizisch, Baskisch, Griechisch...), und wir möchten besonders denjenigen mehr Raum geben, die oft zu kurz kommen. Wir treffen uns meistens in einer Bar, daher bitten wir alle, als Gegenleistung für die Nutzung des Lokals etwas zu bestellen. Ce groupe s'adresse à toutes celles et ceux qui souhaitent pratiquer des langues et améliorer leurs compétences dans une ambiance conviviale. Toutes les langues nous intéressent (catalan, espagnol, anglais, français, allemand, arabe, russe, chinois, persan, galicien, basque, grec...), et nous aimerions particulièrement donner plus de place à celles qui sont souvent laissées de côté. Nous nous retrouvons généralement dans un bar, c'est pourquoi nous demandons à chacun de consommer quelque chose en échange de l'utilisation du lieu. Nous demandons également une contribution de **1 € par session** pour couvrir les frais de publicité sur la plateforme, qui s'élèvent entre 12 et 20 € selon le plan choisi. Cela dit, nous sommes très ouverts et flexibles sur le format : on peut se retrouver en plein air quand il fait beau, dans des espaces culturels comme L'Estruch, dans une association de jeux de société pour faire une partie tout en pratiquant, ou même organiser des sorties et d'autres activités. L'idée est d'intégrer les langues dans la vie quotidienne, car nous pensons que c'est l'une des meilleures façons de les pratiquer. I have been studying the question of "self" online with Prof. Ellie Anderson and so I thought a prompt on the "self" might be interesting. Full confession: I had Claude create this prompt and I like it, so here goes: Imagine a thought experiment that merges two classic puzzles: > You undergo a procedure, performed neuron by neuron, in which every biological component of your brain is replaced with a functionally identical synthetic substitute. At each step, your behavior, memories, and personality remain unchanged. When the last neuron is swapped, is the consciousness experiencing the world still you? And — more pressingly — was there ever a continuous "you" to begin with? ### Questions to Wrestle With * If consciousness is purely physical, does the *gradual* nature of the replacement matter, or is it equivalent to being destroyed and rebuilt? * Could there be a "self" without continuity of experience — even moment to moment, while you sleep? On a more practical level, consider the simpler case first: **hemispherectomy** patients — people who have had an entire cerebral hemisphere surgically removed — often retain a strong sense of personal identity and continuity.
