FRIDAY - Conditioning Hike - 6:30am and 7:15am - River Place Nature Trail
NOTE: This is a special Friday edition of our normal Saturday event. I have plans on Saturday but didn't want to miss the workout. Caution: This is an advanced and strenuous hike. We try to keep a quick pace to make this a challenging workout. Known as "Nature's Stairmaster", this strenuous hike is not recommended for beginners. There are 2763 steps with 1800 feet of elevation change - in each direction! You're welcome to join us at 6:30am, at 7:15am, or for both hikes depending on your fitness level. Afterwards, you're more than welcome to join us at Rudy's on 620 for breakfast tacos. We usually have 10-15 people show up for this hike. Hope to see you there! 6:30am - 2 miles (40 minutes) This is the hardest part of the trail which makes it great for conditioning. We will be starting at the Canyon Trail trailhead, hiking to Noggin' Knocker, and back. You will need a head lamp! 7:15am - 5.5 miles (2hrs) We will be starting at the Canyon Trail trailhead, hiking to the Fern Trail Trailhead, taking a 5-10 minute break, and then hiking back to where we started. IMPORTANT NOTE: On weekends, they charge a $10 fee per hiker (and $10 per dog) starting around 7:15am to hike this trail. If you're showing up for the 7:15am hike, be a little early and wait by the trail kiosk, or prepared to pay the fee. If you're already on the trail when they start collecting, they don't make you pay. What to bring with you: Lots of water (preferably with electrolytes) and a good pair of hiking or trail running shoes. If it's wet, or you're new to this trail, trekking poles can be a big help. How to find us: We will be standing near the trailhead kiosk at the Canyon Trail trailhead entrance. NOTE: There are no restrooms or water at this trailhead. Come out and paint anywhere on or around the square in downtown Georgetown from 4-7 p.m. At 7:00, meet up at the Art Guild Gallery located at 708 S. Rock St., Georgetown for an informal showing to see what everyone has created! There will be art shows, vendors, live music, demonstrations and so much more happening in Georgetown during this event. It doesn't matter if you're a dominoes aficionado or have never played before--if you love to play games and have fun, come join us! Mexican Train is a great game that involves both luck and strategy, but it's easy to learn. We meet monthly, and if you 'd like to have the group meet at your house, I'm sure we'd love to! In the meantime, it's at ours. Bring a sweet or savory snack to share, your favorite beverage AND DOMINOES if you have a set. We chat and chew from 6:30 to 7 and will start playing at 7. (you can continue to snack while we play), but come early to visit and nosh for a bit before we start. BYOB We always end the night with a hilarious game of CATCHPHRASE.

Austin is home to one of the largest, friendliest acroyoga communities in the United States, with a vibrant scene and many opportunities to play and learn each week. All we're missing is you! If you've been wanting to try out acroyoga, we welcome you to our weekly beginner orientation lesson, part of our regular Friday jam (open practice). Through games and calibrations, you'll understand key body mechanics essential to acro, and then learn several basic poses and how to transition between them. You'll be surprised what you'll be able to do! Taught by volunteer senior members of our community, this lesson emphasizes safety, connection, and fun. No partner or experience necessary!
