**Brushy Creek "One Fly" Tournament** Saturday, May 16, 2026 7:00 AM 1:00 PM Living Waters Fly Fishing103 North Brown StreetRound Rock, TX, 78664United States (map) Our Annual “One Fly” Tournament is a celebration of the species diversity in our home water of Brushy Creek. Participants will compete to catch as many different species as possible within the allotted time, with an extra challenge of using a single fly. If the fly is broken off or lost, you’re out! Both traditional and Tenkara style fly fishing are acceptable. There is no entry fee and no registration is required, but you MUST attend the Pre-Tournament Briefing to participate. 7:00 A.M. – Doors Open / Tournament Entrant Check-In (Coffee & Round Rock Donuts provided) 7:15 A.M. – Mandatory Pre-Tournament Briefing 7:30 A.M. – Tournament Begins 12:15 P.M. – Tournament Ends 12:30 P.M. – “Weigh In” 1:00 P.M. – Winners Announced / Prizes Awarded* *In the event of a tie, the top contenders will face off in a speed round Fish Off.

We meet by the flag pole and concrete restrooms near the big parking lot at Lake Pflugerville Park! All levels of runners are welcome- we have ran/walkers, middle of the pack runners, and even some speed demons! We put up a clock with a start sign, and leave promptly at 8 am every Saturday... see you there!

Even if you've never played beach volleyball before, I can show you how you can start having more fun on a sand volleyball court. If you have played before, would you like to \* know where and how to stand while you're waiting for the ball? \* move through the sand more quickly? \* get to the ball in time more often? \* cushion the ball so it doesn't hurt even if it's hit hard at you? \* be able to aim the ball when you pass ("bump") it? \* know which player you should pass the ball to? \* "set" the ball so that your teammate can attack ("spike") it? \* get more of your serves over the net, in bounds, and with more power? \* learn how to approach a "set" ball so you have time to hit it? \* hit the ball with more control and power? We'll learn the keys to all of these skills and practice them so that they begin to feel more comfortable and familiar. We’re still working to get more people into these Meetups, but our goal is to give PlayYourCourt members a few social tennis outings each week in addition to your practice sessions and Challenge League matches. These Meetups are co-ed, super laid back, and all skill levels are welcome. Casual open play pickleball for all levels, including beginners. Equipment: You will need to purchase a paddle, or you can rent one from the front desk. We play with “outdoor” balls. Usually our group has some but it’s a good idea to bring them just in case. I highly recommend wearing a good quality court shoe and comfortable athletic wear. Max of 32 people (via Apex link). Cost is $12 per person ($10.80 for Apex members). Apex is an indoor facility with a pro shop and restaurant/bar on site. You do not need to be a member to play. If you are new to pickleball or need a refresher, we typically dedicate one of the courts for learning. Experienced players rotate in to help you learn the game rules and scoring. Short North Street Skates return Saturday, April 4 and we’re excited to get back rolling together. These weekly rollouts are a chance to move through the city as a group, build community, and create more visibility for skating and small-wheeled movement in Columbus. Details: Meet: 1160 N High St 9:30 AM meet 10:00 AM rollout All wheels welcome We’ll be skating through the Short North and surrounding areas at a steady, social pace. Routes will use a mix of streets and bike lanes, so comfort navigating the city is helpful, but you don’t need to be an expert. If you’ve been meaning to come out, this is a great place to start. Come solo or bring a friend!
