Footsoak 'Water' Meditation
Footsoak 'Water' Meditation
**What is footsoak water meditation?** Use natural elements to deepen meditation. Water and salt combination takes out imbalances in our system and we feel much more refreshed. We do guided meditation while our feet are in water. **How to do it?** Get along a tumbler in which your feet can dip ankle deep. Additionally get table salt, mug of fresh water and a fiber to wipe feet. Intsructions on footsoak: https://youtu.be/xXpg1zjvU_Y

Thanks for joining us, writers! Because of COVID-19, we are hosting this with Zoom. When life returns to normal then we will be meeting again in downtown Portland. For now, we will be sending out the Zoom link with the stories that are sent by email the Saturday before the workshop. Please understand that we limit attendance to 15 or 16 writers to allow all the writers a chance to critique and have a voice during the workshop. Before you come: New? Send us your email so we can get the week's stories to you. pdxwritersworkshop(AT)gmail.com Please read the stories before coming to the meeting. (We don't read stories out loud.) Some of us print out the stories and make comments on the hard copies to give to the writer, but this is not obligatory. We always start with something we like about the story and then move into talking about what needs work. Writers must attend at least once before submitting a story to get a feel for the group. Submission guidelines: • 5000 word cap (excerpts of longer works OK) • Double-spaced • First line indention • No extra space between paragraphs • Drafts should be fairly polished • Narrative fiction and non-fiction only • Feel free to let us know if there's an aspect you'd like us to focus on, but please minimize any preamble • Stories should be submitted (pdxwritersworkshop(AT)gmail.com) no later than the SATURDAY at noon before the meeting • Send stories in Word or PDF All members should get in touch with the organizers and provide an email address so we can get you the week's story submissions. pdxwritersworkshop(AT)gmail.com How the group works: We encourage the submitting writer to listen while her/his story is discussed by other members and then ask questions or offer explanations at the end. If it's a novel, we don't need to know the ending. We like suspense. Many of us have beer/tea/wine and/or food while at the meeting. Feel free to eat or not. Please bring $2 to contribute to the group each meeting. These funds go towards our Meetup fees. Ask us about this if you have questions. Please contact us with other questions or concerns: pdxwritersworkshop(AT)gmail.com
Stay fit with Parkinson's (Zoom class)
Stay fit with Parkinson's (Zoom class)
Exercise can slow down the progression of Parkinson’s, and Covid 19 Quarantine is no reason not to move! Join our fun outdoor class and stay fit and healthy. Our ‘Nordic Neuro Magic’ is a new exercise class designed for people in the early stage of Parkinson’s and their friends or partners who can walk, are at a low risk of falls and have no major other health concerns . Our exercise classes can really help improve your gait, balance and posture. They are also an excellent way to get fitter and stronger. Inspired by PD Warrior, we run these especially designed classes, full of fun exercises, designed to slow down the progression of Parkinson’s. Our members love it, and we can really see the difference in the members who have been with us for a while! The classes are based around 7 key principles: o Powerful o Complex o Frequent o High effort o Meaningful in daily life o Specific to symptoms o Fun! New to Fit and Happy Outdoors? Please email me on ailien@fitandhappyoutdoors.com or send me a personal message through Meetup at least 24 hours before the session you would like to join. That will give me enough time to get back to you and discuss your needs and find out a bit more about you. Once signed up we will send you a link to our Zoom meeting, as well as the password. Cost: £150 per 10 sessions or £90 per month for unrestricted access to all our classes. Your partner can join your session for free. Pay What Works: The price shown above is the “true” value of the session that best reflects the work I put into preparing and leading your session. However, I understand that not everyone can afford to pay full price, and I don’t want that to stop you from joining us. In an effort to find a balance between more financial accessibility and sustainable pricing, I now offer a “Pay What Works” model. This allows for financial flexibility while still valuing and respecting the work and energy I provide in creating and delivering these classes. Then send an email to ailien@fitandhappyoutdoors.com with the heading “INVOICE please”- followed by “FAHO 1” to pay full price as quoted below, “FAHO 2”, for 20% off, or “FAHO 3” for 50% off. Please do tell me if you want to pay for 10 sessions, or if you’d like to pay monthly. I prefer payment by bank transfer, but if that is not possible you could post me a cheque, made out to Ailien Rhijnsburger.

Sunday Night Women's Empowerment after Narcissistic Abuse Support w/Christine
\#\# Details A special meeting to show off what we've been up to lately and what we are doing to heal. Have you been engaging in arts and crafts? Reading a good book? Using healthy coping skills? You may share anything you wish, but this meeting will focus on progression. This is a Women's support group for those who have survived any kind of abusive relationship with a narcissist - romanic, platonic, familial, etc - or are currently in one and in need of support. The cycle of abuse from the love-bombing to the trauma bond to the devaluation to the discard is never-ending and makes you feel alone. Please come and share your experience, this is a supportive place to vent and talk. **THIS EVENT IS FOR ESTABLISHED MEMBERS ONLY. YOU MUST HAVE ATTENDED A FIRST-TIMERS MEETING PRIOR TO SIGNING UP FOR THIS GROUP.** Zoom links will be sent out to those who RSVP by the afternoon of the event and have attended our first-timers meeting. Maximum attendance of 20 people so everyone has a chance to share. Video MUST be on so everyone can feel comfortable. The meeting will open with a short introduction of everyone and then will open to sharing. It's a safe, supportive environment and I look forward to meeting everyone. ABOUT YOUR ORGANIZER: Christine is a survivor of a 2 year romantic relationship with a narcissist and wants very much to hear your story and offer support.

Sunday funday: let's play dodgeball at Scioto Audubon park
Dodgeball is back again! If you’ve been wanting to come out, this is an easy one to join. We’ll be playing for about 1.5 to 2 hours, you do not need to bring any equipment, and no experience is needed. We use a specific set of rules and equipment to make the games run better and keep them fun for everybody, not just people who already know how to play. If it rains, the event will be canceled.
