EL SALTILLO CANILLAS DE ACEITUNO HANGING BRIDGE & TROPICAL LAGOON GORGE TREK

The long awaited new suspension bridge - the Caminito Del Rey of Axarquia has finally arrived!

50 meters in length and hanging 62 meters high obove the Almanchares river. Forming part of the Gran Senda de Málaga (GR-249) The Great Malaga Pathway.

Starting our trek in the classic Andalusian rustic white mountain village of Canillas de Aceituno, sitting on the slopes of the Sierra de Tejeda, with the 2069 meter peak of La Maroma towering above us, the highest in the province of Malaga.

Trekking through this impressive rugged ravine we’ll reach a series of crystal clear tropical mountain pools. A very wild untamed region which hasn’t had the same flow of tourists visiting as the coast. With far reaching views towards the emerald lake Vinuela, the mountain trails above Canillas de Aceituno are just incredible, mirroring regions of the Australian outback!

Finishing in the square of this rustic traditional white washed village for tapas and drinks! Just taking in mountain pueblo life, walking through the narrow cobbled streets we get a true feel of traditional Andalucían rural life.

*Pick up 09:00 from the Mijas / Marbella area - full details will be given on pick up locations when signed up. Return no later than 17:00

•KIT TO BE TAKEN -
Light weight breathable trousers or shorts, breathable t-shirt, wind stopper jackets, hat to keep the sun off from head, sunblock.
•Hiking shoes or trail running trainers, trainers are adequate for this trek but hiking shoes will be more comfortable.
•Small rucksack to carry water and lunch pack.
•Try and travel light, I use a 4K GoPro 5 which takes excellent professional photos and videos throughout the trek.
