This birding route makes for a great outing, especially for beginning birders! In the spring the birds are active, noisy and visible, and the trail is easy and fully accessible--flat and paved, through edge habitat and fields, with the river on one side and the pond on the other. We hope you’ll join us!
If you are new to birding, let us help you get started. If you are experienced, you can help everyone enjoy all that we discover. We’ve seen everything from eagles, sharp-shinned hawks and wood ducks to great crested flycatchers, warblers, orioles and kingfishers along this trail.

Join us for some calm mid-week birding where we can enjoy beauty of the route with less foot and bicycle traffic than on weekends. We will take about two hours for the 1+ mile out and back field trip. The path is open so sun protection is strongly recommended. This inclusive, free event is open to everyone, including children if accompanied by an adult. Bring binoculars if you have them.

There are no restroom facilities available.

Guides: Lynn Sowden, Connie Stevenson, Jim Ermer

DIRECTIONS: We will meet at the large parking lot on Riverside Drive at the RiverEdge Square Shopping Center in Spring City, which is one block west of the river off of E. Bridge Street. PLEASE NOTE: Riverside Drive LOOKS LIKE A DRIVEWAY and is immediately next to the “RiverEdge Square” sign for this little strip mall.
