A tour of some of the best spots on the island we start at 9 am and return at around 7 pm. We hike, lunch and swim! :-)

The price of 20€ includes: rent of car and gas, It doesn’t include food at the stops. The menu at the restaurant ranges from 6 to 15 €. You are also welcome to bring your own lunch.

Tour description:

We will start by going to the look-out cafe and exhibition on the mountain top by Betancuria. Here you will get a quick intro of the history and ecology of Fuerteventura and the Canarie islands in general. We take a coffee and enjoy the view of the island.

Then we head down into the valley and visit the old capital of the island Betancuria and there is an magnificent old church, that is worth a visit. Then we go further down the valley and have a snack in Vega de Rio Palma - a great spot.

We then go through the arid clifs on the high road leading to Pajara with a shaded alley of trees, yes trees there are some trees on the island. Then at noon we head for the beach and caves at Ajuy but on the route we make a stop at Buen Paso and make a beautiful hike to the Eremite de Vergin through an amazing rock structure which is out of this world.

From here We go to the beach, at Ajuy, and digest our impressions with some food at the restaurant at the beach. We then swim if anybody wants.

Afterwards we follow the trail around the cliffs by the beach going to the natural caves, washed out of the cliffs by the sea - an impressive sight. Before returning home we will enjoy a coffee and possible see the sunset over the bay.

We return home after a full day of sight seeing! Arhhh its a good life!

Bring yourself and good shoes, we wont do any serious hiking just walking so hiking shoes are not necessary. Bring a wind breaker as it can be windy it is after all Fuerteventura “fuerte” strong and "ventura” wind - yes the island of strong winds but do not be scared, its normally calm and sunny, so bring a swim suit if you like to take a dip at Ajuy.

Hope to see you! Erik
