Online discussion of 'Materialists', 2025 in English

On October 19th we're meeting in Zoom to discuss the movie Materialists and the topics raised there. On the surface, it looks like a 'feel-good romance' but it is also a bold attempt to convey the essence of online dating nowadays, at least in highly capitalist societies like the US. For me personally it was also a transformational journey for one of the main charaters.

I host an online cinema club for those who love movies and talking about thought-provoking topics, challenging their assumptions and learning something new. All the while using your English!📽️💬🙌

We meet more or less monthly on Sundays at noon (Barcelona time) online, to chat about a movie / mini-series I propose a couple of weeks prior to (a month in advance for books - check my other community) the session. So you'll have to watch it on your own before joining the talk! The meeting in Zoom usually lasts around 90-120 minutes, and we continue to chat about it in Telegram several weeks afterwards!
