The Plan
🌋 The Natural Park of the Volcanic zone of La Garrotxa is a unique region in Spain for being the best example of volcanic landscape of the Peninsula. Located in the eastern Pyrenees this park is famous for its 40 volcanic cones, 10 craters and 20 basaltic lava flows.
🍂 We’ll go for a beautiful hike through the beech forest of Fageda d'en Jorda where we’ll enjoy the fantastic seasonal colours of the trees and will try to immortalize them with our camera. We’ll discover the ancient volcano of Santa Margarita (with its hermitage built in the center of the crater), and the Volcano del Croscat with its horseshoe-shaped crater which is about 160 m high.

🚗 We’ll be sharing private cars from Barcelona. Each passenger will pay €15 to the driver to cover gas and tolls expenses.
Bring 🎒
Mountain shoes, sun protection, picnic + snacks, water (1,5L), walking sticks (recommended), waterproof jacket (just in case), polar fleece, warm clothes.

🌋 Ha llegado el otoño, y como en Barcelona, no se aprecian mucho los cambios de estaciones debido al tipo de vegetación que predomina, vamos a buscar a estos colores en una región única en España por ser el mejor ejemplo de paisaje volcánico de la Península.
🍂 Haremos una preciosa caminata por el hayedo d’en Jorda (Fageda d’en Jorda) donde podrémos apreciar los fantásticos colores del otoño y intentar imortalizarlas con nuestras cámara. Descubriremos el antiguo volcán de Santa Margarita (con su ermita construida en el cráter), y el Volcán del Croscat con su cráter en forma de herradura de unos 160 m de altura.
