As project managers and leaders - our job is to get stuff to done. To push things forwards, we need to make decisions. These decisions often are based on trade offs and navigating diverse views.
As the projects get more complex, so does the diversity of views
As the projects run for longer, the more entrenched positions are
As we move increasingly 'agile' or 'AI enabled' - the decisions we make will be more difficult as 'right' becomes somewhat blurred.
How do we navigate this complexity and tensions?
How do we navigate the difference between
- being product led vs engineering led?
- invest in technical excellence now? or later?
- do make changes for short term gains? or long term?
We are looking to introduce an approach called Polarity Mapping. It is a a practical and battle-tested tool to end the debates and shift from either/or thinking to yes/and solutions.
The format tonight will be as a workshop - where the facilitator will guide participants through mapping their own real-world tensions in a hands-on workshop. Expect insights, actionable takeaways, and a new lens for tackling the toughest dilemmas.
