How can we rebuild a society for human creativity?
Who is at the table
A small table of people who live in Buenos Aires: artists, musicians, founders, curators, teachers, researchers, people building AI, and people whose work brings them to this question from somewhere else.
Life has long been organized around producing enough. The work that makes a person who they are is often the work they make time for on nights and weekends.
What to bring
Bring one interesting case of human creativity, from anywhere: a song, a line someone wrote, a chair someone designed, a dance that spread through a city, the way a neighborhood runs its market. Yours or someone else's. Anything that makes you rethink what creativity is. A photo, a link or just telling it is enough.
How the evening goes

  • A round of names and what you make.
  • Each person shares their case in a couple of minutes. The table picks two or three and talks them through: if we took this case seriously, what could human creativity become?
  • One line each at the end.

Two hours, mate on the table, in English.
Conversation rules
These are the agreements we ask everyone at the table to follow, adapted from Ausna’s World Rebuilding Club:

  1. Complete frankness. Say what you actually think, including where you disagree.
  2. Keep disagreement with the ideas. Hear a challenge without turning it into a personal offense; challenge someone’s thought while making room for the person.
  3. Sincerity toward complexity. Give the complexity of humanity and the world the attention it needs. Stay curious about what a neat explanation leaves out.
  4. The right to represent yourself. Each person gets to say what they mean, clarify their position, and speak from their own experience.
  5. Keep people present. Bring the people, experiences and consequences behind an idea into view—including the people in the room.
  6. Unfinished thoughts are welcome. Pause to think, write or look something up. Nobody needs to be right. Imagine boldly and make sincere guesses about what we do not yet know.

What we make together
Each evening is written up. You’ll see your part first, and it goes out only with your yes.
The table opens into a month of co-creation, Nov 21 – Dec 19: a small circle of us meets people who already live the question, builds it together a few at a time, and each makes one piece (an essay, research or a proposal). On Dec 19 the pieces come out together as one issue, with a celebration. You are welcome to begin with this evening.
