Sobre nosotros
Talking over a movie: most people hate it! Except sometimes they don't! When they don't, it's either a DVD commentary track or a movie riffing show, and we're here for the latter.
The art form known as movie riffing was popularized with the show Mystery Science Theater 3000, and it has only exploded since then, and here in Chicago it happens a lot! MST3k is back with a second new season on Netflix while old episodes run on Pluto.tv and pretty much anywhere online you'd care to look, and Rifftrax is up to three live broadcasts a year, but more important is the LIVE riffing.
We keep you up to date on local shows like VHS Comedy, where comedians riff the craziest VHS tapes your hosts can find as they stop by garage sales and thrift stores while touring the country, as well as big-name shows like the MADS from MST3k, Jonah Ray, Hampton Yount, and more. Finally, Chicago's own movie riffing crew, Down In Front, hosts a monthly scripted riffing show at @North bar featuring blockbuster films and oddities alike!

Down In Front: Reefer Madness!
Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro, 3905 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL, USWhen good, upright white twenty-something year-old high school students get mixed up with the devil weed, MARIHUANA, Only death and prison await them. But for some reason only them; the "kids" who are content being C students do all right for themselves. This 4/25 (5 days after 4/20, because we're iconoclasts even to the iconoclasts), Down In Front presents the 1936 anti-drug propaganda film, Reefer Madness, a somewhat hyperbolic morality play about the evils of using a mild narcotic that humans have enjoyed responsibly for about 5,000 years. If you've ever wondered what people who have never smoked marijuana think smoking marijuana is like, look no further than Reefer Madness. I mean, we don't smoke marijuana, and you can't prove otherwise, but come on, 1936. Down In Front presents Reefer Madness as our exhibit A you can be a moral guardian OR you can be good at making movies, but never both.
We'll be at Mrs. Murphy and Sons Irish Bistro, with full bar and menu available to us, so come hungry! The bistro is on Lincoln Ave, near the intersection of Lincoln and Irving Park, a block from both the Irving Park + Damen/Lincoln and Damen + Byron bus stops, and a six minute walk from the Irving Park stop on the Blue Line. They have a small parking lot, and paid street parking is also available.
The event is free, with a humble request to pay what you can to support us, or to sign on to our Patreon, [www.patreon.com/downinfrontlive,](https://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.patreon.com/downinfrontlive,&sa=D&source=calendar&usd=2&usg=AOvVaw1cKd-Dap5rZybCrb-8E9kv) for as little as a dollar a month.
Join us at Mrs. Murphy and Sons April 25th and remember: no talking during the movie. That's our job.
