This is the first of a series of meetups dedicated to exploring the exciting world of OpenTelemetry within the cloud-native ecosystem. Whether you're just curious about observability or already a seasoned OpenTelemetry user, this series will offer valuable insights, practical knowledge, and opportunities to connect with fellow enthusiasts in the Barcelona cloud-native community.

Join us for this first event in the series at Trainline 🙌

📍Location
🆕 Trainline: Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes 613, 08007 Barcelona | https://maps.app.goo.gl/rqNgboG919GyZ7LbA

👉 Here's a sneak peek of the agenda:

18:00: Check-in and welcome 👋

18:15 🎙️ “OpenTelemetry 101” by Imma Valls - Staff Developer Advocate at Grafana Labs

A brief introduction to OpenTelemetry, with a practical example of auto-instrumenting a Java web application with the Grafana stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, and Mimir).

19:00 🎙️ "OpenTelemetry outside k8s: a journey of observability independence" by Christian Polanco, Senior Platform Engineer @ Amenitiz

At Amenitiz, we took the journey of creating a more modern observability stack, one that allows developers to test faster and measure more.
We found that moving our observability to open-source technologies like OpenTelemetry and Prometheus unlocked that future.

20:00 - 21:00 Networking, Snacks, and Drinks 🍻🍕

We want to extend our gratitude to Trainline for hosting us and to Grafana Labs for providing food 🥟 and refreshments 🧃🍻

Don't miss this opportunity to connect with fellow observability enthusiasts and deepen your understanding of OpenTelemetry!
