DVUX is a community situated at the intersection of data visualization and user experience. Our goal is to foster idea sharing, support each other in learning new skills, and encourage critical thinking. DVUX is meant to effectively help bridge the gap between data set and chart type by incorporating user centric design principles.

There is a gap that needs to be addressed—traditional methods of designing data visualizations do not guarantee a successful user experience. Created by Mark Schindler (GroupVisual.io) and Bang Wong, DVUX began as a hands-on workshop. The goal of the workshop is to help individuals and organizations design a better user experience around data, by incorporating brain science, social science, design thinking and agile methodologies. From the workshop stemmed the community we know and love as DVUX!
