Canyoning: Barranco del Paret

IMPORTANT: This event is for those who have completed the Canyoning Skill Day or have autonomous experience.

Barranco del Paret is a semi-vertical canyon located near Altea la Vella, Alicante. The descent includes 8 rappels, with the longest measuring 35 meters, offering a varied and engaging sequence of vertical drops. This makes it ideal for a relaxed, yet still technical, day out. The approach typically takes around 30 minutes, the descent usually lasts 2–3 hours, (so Nina bring a lunch ) and the return is straightforward, taking approximately 20–30 minutes, allowing for an efficient and well-paced day in the canyon.
Jota’s Take: This is a classic — and a great next step after the Skills Day. It gives you plenty of chances to practise what you’ve just learned without the canyon feeling overwhelming. For those with a bit more experience, it’s still a really enjoyable day out: sunny, open rappels, good flow, and solid anchors. Definitely one to bag.

El Barranco del Paret se encuentra cerca de Altea la Vella, Alicante. El descenso cuenta con 8 rápeles, siendo el más largo de 35 metros, con una secuencia variada y vertical. Esto lo hace ideal para una jornada técnica pero relajada. La aproximación dura unos 30 minutos, el descenso suele durar entre 2 y 3 horas, y el regreso es sencillo, tomando aproximadamente 20–30 minutos, permitiendo un día bien organizado y fluido.
La Opinión de Jota: Es un clásico y un siguiente paso ideal tras el Día de Habilidades. Ofrece muchas oportunidades para practicar lo aprendido sin que el barranco resulte agobiante. Para quienes ya tienen algo más de experiencia, sigue siendo un barranco muy disfrutón: rápeles abiertos, soleados, buen ritmo y reuniones sólidas. Sin duda, uno para tachar de la lista.
