Fast Data is a new wave of streaming technology (Spark, Kafka, Ignite, Akka) focused on a set of design patterns better aligned with a variety of use cases (involving AI and ML) than the previous generation of Hadoop-oriented batch workflows. We're going to bring thought leaders into this space to learn and discuss (in technical detail) the patterns and practices that make fast data systems work in production. We're going to invite leaders from Charlottesville and Washington to share their experience operationalizing large-scale, production systems. We'll enjoy some pizza and good company along the way!
