Beta Reader / Critique Partner Speed-Match

Looking for a dedicated critique partner to for your novel or other works-in-progress? Bring along one typed page (up to 300 words) from your current project, and let's sit down for a few quick-fire rounds of critique. Afterward, you'll have a chance to make long-term connections with other writers whose feedback resonates.

Who Should Attend
If you're a writer who's working on a larger project (like a novel, serial, or full collection of poetry or short stories) and you'd like someone to exchange feedback with long-term, this is the event for you. There will be a mix of genres and forms at this first meeting.

What to Bring
Please make sure to bring a short sample of your writing! This should include ONE TYPED PAGE (up to 300 words) of the project you're currently seeking a beta reader for. In addition, be prepared to give your critique partners a brief overview of your work -- for example a two-line quick summary or elevator pitch.

What to Expect
This event will work in 10-minute rounds, rather similar to speed-dating. For each round, you will have the opportunity to talk about your project and share your writing with another member of the group, who will then give you their first impressions and critique. I'll provide some guidance for people who might be new to critiquing. By the end of the night, you'll have exchanged work with up to a dozen other writers, and you can exchange contact information if you want to keep working with them.
