Join us on Humanists Brisbane on Radio 4EB via your Digital device — thoughtful conversations for curious people. This is a weekly radio program, broadcast on Radio 4EB Global Digital at 6:00pm AEST. Each week we will explore different topics about, and related to, humanism. You can listen to this and subsequent programs via On Demand at your leisure, time and place.
This week, we’re going to put a spotlight on the Humanist value of Community. First we’ll explore what we mean by Community, including the many different types of communities and what makes them what they are. We’ll take a look at human evolution and the need for belonging and we’ll look back in history to see how the concept of community developed, including of course a humanist perspective. We’ll explore some of the modern challenges to community and then turn our attention to building strong, inclusive communities for the future.
