Medium to hard walks through Dalby forest in North Yorkshire.
The main walk will be on Saturday 25 April 2026, with an easier shorter walk on the Sunday.
Arrange your own accommodation within the Pickering/Dalby Forest area.
Lots to do in the local area if you don't want to walk. North Yorkshire Moors Railway as seen in Harry Potter films and Heartbeat.

Meet at the car park, £6 - £7 all day.
Toilets available.
Bring packed lunch and drinks.
We will set up with a steady climb up to the visitors centre in Dalby Forest. We stop here for lunch. Toilets etc available.
Once we are fed and watered we set of along a different path, mostly down hill back to the start.
Regular stops will be available for photos, drinks, or just a quick breather.

Join us for nice walk along the river Trent from the park opposite Newark castle to Farndon Marina. This walk is offered as a local alternative to the Dalby Forest weekend for those not going on the trip. There are a couple of pubs in the marina so suitable to stop for a drink. We will not be having a sit in pub lunch due to the amount of late drop outs on walks where we have booked pubs. The walk is around an hour and 15 minutes each way. (Approx 6 miles in total) There is a pay and display car park next to riverside park shown in the photos or the train station, Tolney Lane. Meet on the grass opposite the castle at 10:00

Meeting at the NYMR Station parking for 350 cars £7 for the day, sorry couldnt find any part day fees, or you can park on side streets for nowt. Toilets and cafe available at the station.
We head out through Pickering into open countryside and woodland before crossing the tracks and returning to the station. Fingers crossed we get passed by a steam train.
Bring drinks and nibbles for along the route.
