**Walktober continues this fall,** bringing together community, nature, and the joy of walking. Each week in October, we host guided walks across Metro Vancouver that highlight unique stories, landscapes, and the importance of sustainable mobility. These walks are **open to everyone** and are a great way to connect with others while exploring the outdoors and new neighbourhoods.

**Our second walk of the season, New West Wander: Diwali Fest x BEST,** welcomes you to experience the brightest and most popular event on the Indian calendar. We'll start our refreshing 4 KM journey accessible to all ages and abilities at New Westminster Pier Park, **following the BC Parkway with quiet views of the impressive Fraser River,** and conclude at Anvil Centre hosting the vibrant [Diwali Fest 2025](https://diwalifest.ca/).

**Diwali means “row of lighted lamps,"** symbolizing light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. **Experience the best and most exciting South Asian musical and dance talents** while lighting diya’s, laying out colorful rangoli’s, exchanging gifts of sweets, and celebrating the universal Diwali Spirit with communities from across the Lower Mainland! **Learn more [here!](https://diwalifest.ca/about-us/)**
