"Carnaval, Obermann y la nostalgia del último romántico."

Sp. Este programa propone un viaje por el universo del Romanticismo musical a través de tres de sus voces más singulares: Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt y Sergei Rachmaninoff.
El recorrido comienza con el Carnaval, Op. 9 de Schumann — una explosión de creatividad y fantasía en la que el compositor alemán construye un mundo lleno de máscaras, personajes y alter egos. Tras la apariencia lúdica de estas breves escenas se esconde un retrato profundo de su propia personalidad y de su ideal artístico: la música como reflejo de una vida interior desbordante, una partitura llena de códigos musicales.
Con Vallée de Obermann, Liszt traslada esta introspección a un paisaje más filosófico y existencial. Inspirado por la novela de Senancour, el pianista húngaro convierte el valle suizo en una metáfora del deseo y la búsqueda espiritual. Su escritura pianística -virtuosa, expansiva y de gran fuerza poética- refleja su propia lucha entre el mundo exterior y la inquietud interior. Asimismo, Liszt es tal vez el ejemplo más claro y clamoroso de lo que representó el concepto de "virtuoso" durante la era romántica. Por último, el Preludio Op. 32 núm. 10 de Rachmaninoff nos transporta al crepúsculo del Romanticismo. En él, el lenguaje de Schumann y Liszt reaparece transformado: la pasión y el virtuosismo, absolutamente fundamentales, también dejan paso a la melancolía ya una nostalgia irreparable. Rachmaninoff, el “último romántico”, sintetiza en esta miniatura la memoria de un mundo que se desvanece, pero que todavía vibra con una profunda belleza.
Este programa es, en definitiva, un viaje desde la explosión creativa al recuerdo, desde el gesto impetuoso del Romanticismo hasta su último suspiro. Un humilde mirada a una de las épocas más importantes de la historia de la música.
Por último, el Preludio Op. 32 núm. 10 de Rachmaninoff nos transporta al crepúsculo del Romanticismo. En él, el lenguaje de Schumann y Liszt reaparece transformado: la pasión y el virtuosismo, absolutamente fundamentales, también dejan paso a la melancolía ya una nostalgia irreparable. Rachmaninoff, el “último romántico”, sintetiza en esta miniatura la memoria de un mundo que se desvanece, pero que todavía vibra con una profunda belleza.

Carnival, Obermann and the nostalgia of the last romantic

En. This program proposes a journey through the universe of musical Romanticism through three of its most unique voices: Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt and Sergei Rachmaninoff.
The journey begins with Schumann's Carnival, Op. 9 — an explosion of creativity and fantasy in which the German composer constructs a world full of masks, characters and alter egos. Behind the playful appearance of these brief scenes lies a profound portrait of his own personality and his artistic ideal: music as a reflection of an overflowing inner life, a score full of musical codes.
With Vallée d'Obermann, Liszt transfers this introspection to a more philosophical and existential landscape. Inspired by Senancour's novel, the Hungarian pianist turns the Swiss valley into a metaphor for desire and spiritual search. His piano writing—virtuoso, expansive, and of great poetic force—reflects his own struggle between the outside world and inner restlessness. At the same time, Liszt is perhaps the clearest and most striking example of what the concept of "virtuoso" represented during the Romantic era.
Finally, Rachmaninoff's Prelude Op. 32 No. 10 transports us to the twilight of Romanticism. In it, the language of Schumann and Liszt reappears transformed: passion and virtuosity, absolutely fundamental, also give way to melancholy and an irreparable nostalgia. Rachmaninoff, the "last romantic", synthesizes in this miniature the memory of a world that is fading, but which still vibrates with a profound beauty.
This program is, in short, a journey from creative explosion to memory, from the impetuous gesture of Romanticism to its last breath. A humble look at one of the most important eras in the history of music.
