About the talks:

**The state of Freelance Data Jobs in the fall of 2025, using dashboarding-as-code**
Dashboarding-as-code, the practice of defining dashboards using code instead of solely in the UI, has become more popular in recent years. In this talk I will show the benefits of defining charts and visuals using code, while simultaneously diving into the Dutch Freelancing market for “Data jobs” over the past couple of months. We will take a look at the noticeable effects of the Dutch Tax Authority rules for false-employment/schijnzelfstandigheid in the data field, and which job titles and technologies are hot nowadays while showing the power of code for quick iterations.

**DuckLake + dbt: Time traveling with SQL, metadata, and a little AI**
We’ll take a hands-on look at using DuckLake behind dbt: how inserts land, how to time travel your data, and how to see what changed between runs. I’ll show some handy dbt macros plus a few tricks for skipping a heavy metrics layer and leaning on AI to suggest columns and comments instead.

In this talk, learn how the team at Keepit approached a full-scale dbt refactor, the challenges they faced, and what they learned along the way. You’ll see real examples of DAG restructuring, Jinja pattern improvements, and validation checks that kept everything running smoothly.

2. **Building a Scalable Data Mesh with dbt and Snowflake at Velux**
**Speaker:** Thomas Schrum Nicolet (Platform Engineer at Velux)
Learn how Velux is building a scalable data mesh from the ground up using dbt to design and model data products in Snowflake. This session explores how dbt serves as the single source of truth, and how the team uses custom and enhanced macros to simplify data engineering workflows and accelerate data delivery.

3. **Building Resilient Data Pipelines for Embedded Analytics**

Discover how Qarma built a resilient data platform architecture using blue-green deployment strategies powered by Snowflake zero-copy clones and dbt macros. This talk also dives into orchestrating multiple dbt projects with Kestra - from serial execution for ingestion pipelines to parallel processing for scalable analytics delivery.
