Name: Saturday Morning Wildlife Stroll - Salmon Creek Trail
Start: 2026-10-24T16:30:00.000Z
Location: Vancouver Girls Softball Field

Come join us for a family park meetup!

The kids get to play, explore, and make some new friends while the adults have a chance to relax, talk, and meet other local parents, grandparents, and guardians.

For older kids, we bring nerf guns, so they can have a battle on the grass while the younger kids enjoy the playground. The nerf battles have been very popular with kids aged 10–15. They haven't wanted to leave!

There’s no formal program and no pressure. Arrive with your kids when you wish, and stay as long as you like!

Feel free to bring snacks, drinks, or anything else your family might want while we’re there.

Children of different ages are welcome! Please note that this is a family meetup rather than a drop-off activity, so all minors must attend with parent or legal guardian and remain under that person's supervision.

The event is also closed to adults who do not have their own kids with them.
We’re excited to get this group started!

We'll be very glad to get to see you and your family at the park!

\*\*\*We'll be glad to see you! Check-in will start at 5:45. Round one will begin at 6:00. We're doing away with the ticket requirement and making participation first-come, first-served, in the event that attendance becomes enormous and our creativity does not result in a better solution. There is one flight of stairs to climb, and no elevator, unfortunately. But we'll be glad to help anyone up the stairs!\*\*\*

Making new friends as an adult can be hard, especially after retirement. We’re trying to make it easier and a lot more fun!

Our speed friending meetups are a fast, fun way to meet other people and make some new friends.

YOU CAN BE YOUNGER THAN 60! - WE'RE INCLUSIVE!

I (Josh) am 45 and have lots of friends who are over 60. I'm hosting, but I'd also go just to make a new friend of two!

Speed friending is just like speed dating (but completely different . . .)!
You’ll have a series of short, relaxed conversations with different people, with (often offbeat) questions or conversation starters to keep things lively.

Afterward, there’s time to hang out, have a drink or a bite to eat, and continue talking with people you connected with.

Come by yourself (if you like). In fact, that’s exactly what this is designed for! You don’t need to be especially outgoing, and you don’t need to already know anyone.

If you prefer, bring family or friends! We love having couples and friends groups here too!
The goal is simple: get people off their phones, talking face-to-face, laughing, and hopefully leaving with a few new people they’d genuinely like to see again.

This is a friendship and social group, not a dating group.

Drinking is never the point, and alcohol is completely optional.

Because many events will be held at pubs, some individual events may be limited to ages 21+.

This group is geared toward adults. Any participants under the age of 18 would have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and would have to join us on an occasion when the venue allows minors.

Join us and meet some new people! It will be fun!

\*\*\*Please arrive a few minutes early. We'll be leaving on time. In case you don't make it in time to start out with us, text Josh, and we can make sure that we catch you for the second half of our walk, as we make our way back - 360-901-0905.\*\*\*

Join us for an easy stroll to enjoy wildlife and meet new people. We'll visit Turtle Pond and continue a ways down the trail before turning around. We'll also offer an optional extension to the eagle nest and Klineline Park (to check for otters).

All fitness levels and walking speeds are welcome! In fact, we want a full mix, with slow walkers, fast walkers, and people in between!

All ages are welcome too! (Participants under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian along.)

Bring your furry family members as well! We’ve enjoyed meeting new friends’ dogs, and ur friend Erwin has brought his two special-needs kittens in a stroller. They’re adorable!

We'll be very glad to meet you! Come on your own, or bring as many friends or family members as you like!

Our group is kind, friendly, mellow, and welcoming!
