Weekly Study Group - First Meeting
Detalles
There are many MOOCs and online resources available to learn Python, but sometimes is hard or boring to work on your own. A study group helps us motivate each other and achieve our learning objectives together!
The date is set for April 1st, starting around 6 or 7pm. We are still working on a location, and will confirm the start time when the location is booked.
We are planning to meet once a week to be able to do the homework and meet the deadlines.
This will be the first meeting of a study group for those taking the Coursera Interactive Python course, which starts March 24th.
https://www.coursera.org/course/interactivepython
This course is perfect for people who are still pretty new to Python (including those who don't know any programming), or those who want to refresh their skills.
In our first study group meeting, we will review the materials of Week 1, and Part A of the Week 2. Please sign up for the course and watch the instruction videos before the meetup.
=== Not interested in this particular course? ===
There are others in the group who may form another study group. Here are some other courses we have discussed:
-Coursera - High Performance Computing - Starting March 30th
https://www.coursera.org/course/scicomp
-Coursera - Fundamentals of Computing Track

=== Independent Study ===
If you can't commit to a weekly study group, but are working independently on other tutorials, you're also welcome to come and join us! There might be other Pyladies in the same situation and you can join a self-paced course like:

-How to think like a Computer Scientist: http://interactivepython.org/courselib/static/thinkcspy/index.html
