Sobre nosotros
Sahaja Yoga Meditation is meant for everyone who desires to find his or her trueself, which is full of peace, joy of life and love for others. It is not just a book or a set of exercises but a living science that will open up to you gradually as your meditations become deeper and your experience stronger and more fulfilling. Sahaja Yoga Meditation was developed by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi. It involves the awakening of a subtle spiritual energy known as the Kundalini which lies dormant in the sacrum bone at the base of the spine in three-and-a-half coils. The gentle awakening of this Kundalini energy and the inner journey of self discovery is known as Enlightenment (Self-realization). Sahaj means ‘spontaneous’ or ‘born with you’ and yoga translates as ‘union’ (with the Divine or all-pervading power). Sahaja Yoga Meditation then translates as ‘the method of divine union through yoga which everyone is born with’. Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes are held in over 80 countries around the world and are always provided free of charge. Right from the earliest days, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi made it clear that this knowledge and the process of union effected by our Self-realization is the birthright of every human being and therefore cannot be charged for.

Sound of Kashmir — Pt. Abhay Sopori | Amstelkerk Amsterdam
Amstelkerk, Amstelveld 10, Amsterdam, NLSecure your ticket here: Eventbrite.
Pt. Abhay Sopori, son of the legendary Pt. Bhajan Sopori — the Saint of Santoor — is the living heir of one of India's most revered musical lineages. He carries the Sufiana Gharana of Kashmir: rooted in Sufi devotion, refined over centuries, and passed down through one of the subcontinent's most celebrated musical families.
This evening is a tribute to his father, and a continuation of his life's work: the belief that music can connect the human soul to its own depth.
At a time when the world is searching for peace, Sahaja Yoga Meditation invites us to respond — not with more noise, but with stillness. To turn inward, and travel beneath the restlessness, beneath everything we carry, into the quiet depths of our own being. There, in that silence, transformation becomes possible: a reconnection with the self at our very core — untouched, luminous, whole — and a freeing from all the veils that lie between us and our peace.
Accompanied by santoor player Aakash Brunner and tabla maestro Chanchal Singh, Pt. Abhay Sopori performs in the Amstelkerk — a 19th-century Amsterdam church whose intimate scale and natural acoustics make it one of the most extraordinary spaces in the city for this music.
