Sunshine Adventure Hike 2/26: Maiden Pools ☀️

Let’s enjoy a challenging adventure hike in Ventana Canyon! We will be hiking the Maiden Pools via Ventana Canyon trail.

The trail is 5.4 miles out and back with 1318 feet of elevation, shorter for an adventure hike with some steepness. We start at Ventana Trail #98 in Loews Ventana Resort and make our way up the canyon. This is a loose and rocky trail with a challenging final ascent, and hopefully some water!

We will be taking breaks along the way. As far as adventure hikes go, this one is “moderate plus” due to the incline in a relatively short hike. Depending on the speed of the group, this will likely be around a 3.5 hour hike, give or take half an hour.

As for all of our adventure hikes, we will be staying together as much as possible, but if things get challenging, please go at your own pace. Please be prepared to turn around and head back safely if that is the case.

We will convene at the trailhead at 6:55 for introductions and begin our hike at 7:00am. Expect to return to the parking lot around 11am.

Parking at the trailhead is free, plenty of parking at the resort for this trailhead.

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be helpful if you’re comfortable with them.

The weather forecast right now calls for 59 degrees at the start and 77 degrees by the time we finish, heating up! I recommend shorts. This hike is very exposed.
