What Is Religion? How Contrasting Views Can Help Us Understand a Human Universal
Detalles
There is no single agreed definition of religion, but different attempts to create one give us intellectual tools and insights to grapple with this universal cultural phenomenon. In this brief introductory talk, we’ll be looking at different anthropological views of what religion is, or might be. We’ll also touch on such questions as the possible origins of faith, ritual and religious experience, their purpose, and perhaps even their future. This respectful overview should interest people of faith, agnostics and atheists alike.
