We host organized, seated dining experiences across the DC metro area for people who enjoy good food and real conversation. Our events are designed to be social, relaxed, and thoughtfully run.

What we do
Most of our events are dinners, with occasional brunches or happy hours. Group sizes typically range from 6 to 12, depending on the venue. We focus on well-regarded restaurants and test many places ourselves before hosting events there.

Who joins
Members range from their mid-20s through early 60s. Some attend solo, some with friends, some as couples. What people tend to share is an interest in social dining, good conversation, and being present at the table.

What to expect
This is not a drop-in happy hour group. Our events involve reservations and fixed seating. Because of that, we ask members to RSVP thoughtfully and communicate if plans change. Doing so helps keep events fair, enjoyable, and sustainable for everyone.

Is this a singles group
No. Definitely not. People come for the food and the company. Connections happen naturally sometimes, but the goal is a respectful, comfortable dining experience for all. Keep things friendly, social, and considerate.

Let’s switch things up with a proper Sunday brunch buffet. We are heading to J. Hollinger’s Waterman’s Chophouse in downtown Silver Spring, known for its upscale American chophouse approach and one of the more robust brunch buffet offerings in the area.

→ CASH strongly preferred for this event!

FOOD: J. Hollinger’s Waterman’s Chophouse offers a full Sunday brunch buffet format rather than a standard entrée menu. The buffet is well regarded for variety and execution, with stations that typically include made-to-order omelets, carving stations with meats such as prime rib, and a strong seafood presence. Diners frequently highlight items like crab cakes, shrimp, oysters, and smoked salmon, along with rotating hot dishes such as French toast, pancakes, and breakfast meats. There is also a mix of salads, sides, and dessert options, giving a full range from lighter to heavier brunch choices.

The buffet structure allows you to sample across categories rather than commit to a single dish, which works well for group dining and varied preferences. We are also aware there is an optional raw bar available, offered à la carte and outside of the buffet pricing for those who want to add on additional seafood selections.

The restaurant also offers an optional unlimited beverage add-on during brunch, typically including mimosas, bellinis, and other brunch cocktails. Reviews note consistent refills and good pacing, making this a popular upgrade for those looking to extend the brunch experience.

Pricing is fixed for the buffet, with an additional charge if you opt into the unlimited drink program. Most members should expect total spend to land roughly in the 55 to 85 dollar range depending on beverage participation.

The cocktail program focuses on classic, balanced drinks with Italian influence, while the wine list leans heavily toward Italian regions with a range of approachable options.

- Silver Spring (Red) is the closest stop. Exit toward Colesville Rd and Ellsworth Dr, then walk north along Colesville Rd. The walk is about 3–5 minutes.

PARKING: Free Sunday county garage parking within 2 blocks.

- If you RSVP “YES,” please commit to showing up. With 5,400+ members and limited seating, we can’t afford no-shows. It’s not fair to other members or to our relationship with the restaurant.

- Can’t get a slot? Join the Waitlist and check back frequently* —spots often open up before Noon on the day of the event. You may also receive midweek confirmation emails to reconfirm your RSVP, so please check your Meetup DMs inbox.
- Billing Reminder - Add 30% for tax and tip to your food and drink total. This is part of our group’s expectations and helps smooth out service with the restaurant.
