**This is not your typical meetup.** This is vivid, a little challenging, sometimes awkward — and a lot of fun. This is for people who are curious enough to step slightly outside their comfort zone. We blend theatre with real life. Together, we improvise small scenes and playful interactions in public spaces — cafés, bars, and beyond. While we play, the public becomes the audience (without even noticing). **No acting experience needed.** **How it works** We start very simple and low-pressure. Easy exercises, getting comfortable, arriving as a group. Then, step by step, we move into more creative and playful situations in public. You can always choose your level of involvement. The idea is to warm up together first, then gradually explore more playful and slightly weird scenarios. **Important** Please only sign up if you actually plan to come. We keep the group small so every person matters. No matter how many people show up — we will do this. Play some music games - and learn while you're at it! Bring your cello and we'll combine various music reading games with playing the cello. Improve your theory knowledge, or just have fun turning card games into real-life skills. We'll be experimenting with some electronic resources too! Easter themed chocolate provided. Liebe Musizierende und Tanzende: Die "Folkwiese" aus dem Mauerpark findet nun im dritten Jahr ihr Winterquartier im Offenen Wohnzimmer. Wir laden alle Menschen mit akustischem Musikinstrument ein mit uns leichte Stücke vom Balkan, Skandinavien, Irland oder Israel zu spielen. Wir spielen nach Noten, aber im Sessionstyle, also ohne zu "üben". Die Wiederholung machts ! Dazu gibt's leicht zu erlernende Kreistänze mit Tanzanleitung. Bringt gern saubere Tanzschuhe oder warme Socken/Hausschuhe mit.

Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
